Reduced xp on a nodes that should be +xp

I have a tower giving all maps within it's radius 29%, however some nodes are showing reduced xp (and different amounts at that, even though they're both within that single tower's radius only). I used 3 different tablets in the tower, all with +xp gain on them.
Not sure what would cause only some nodes to have significantly reduced xp instead.
