Maps crashing on loading 1st portal and can't re-enter

Recently I've noticed that a handful of maps that I load up end up freezing on the loading screen when I enter the first portal.

When I close and restart the game and try to join the map again it freezes on the loading screen so I have to wait till the instance is closed to regain control of my character.

I've had it happen on 'normal' maps and also special ones like expedition log books and some unique maps.

I tested trying to run a new map on the same node after the instance reset and I get the same crash on the loading screen so it's like the crash persists on that map node or something.

This doesn't happen often but when it does it's a bummer because the map is effectively lost. Not sure if it's just me or if others have run into this as well.
