A terrible .2.0 patch may have been exactly what the game needed
Like your dad trying to buy back your love on the first Christmas after the divorce, I think that GGG have put in a lot of resources and budged on a few hard-line issues to get us back on side.
I don't think that we would have some of the significant quality of life improvements that we've seen added in the last month if it wasn't for the state that DoTH launched in and the overwhelmingly negative response from the player-base. At the very least, I don't think we would have seen the changes that we received until later in the development cycle. This isn't intended as a critique of GGG; I don't view this as them pandering to their audience or withholding quality of life features. I think that they've made a number of decisions that will greatly improve the ongoing quality and player enjoyment of the game within the last month, and it really seems like they've been running themselves ragged with how hard they've been working.
