Greater Rune of Alacrity not working when socketed in Crossbow.

Placing a Greater Rune of Alacrity caused my Crossbow's DPS to decrease for all skills. I previously had a Soul Core of Quipolatl socketed. It seems like the game isn't recognizing this new Rune when socketed.

Weapons don't have a skill speed stat, so the bonus from Greater Rune of Alacrity is global I think. Soul Core of Quipolatl gives % increased local Attack Speed, this affects AS of the crossbow.

Perhaps, but that doesn't explain the fact that I had 195k Crossbow Shot tooltip DPS with 3 Quipolatl (3 Socket Weapon), and 191k with 2 Quipolatl and 1 Greater Rune of Alacrity. If the effect was global, wouldn't that cause the skill DPS to rise? I also noticed the DPS of Galvanic Shards and Shockburst Rounds were lower too with the Greater Rune of Alacrity socketed.

To add, the Greater Rune of Alacrity didn't impact the action speed of Ritual Sacrifice either (Was still 5 seconds..I'm a Ritualist). I also specced into the +3% skill speed node on the passive tree to see if that impacted the DPS (while I had the Greater Rune of Alacrity socketed), and this caused my DPS to rise by 1.5k to 192.5k.

All of this leads me to believe that this Rune is bugged. Have you tried using this rune in a different weapon with positive results? It would be nice if someone else could test this to confirm the bug.

You misunderstood. Global mods are a LOT weaker than local mods because global mods are additive with all other instances of it that you have. Local mods apply directly to the weapon (so they apply at the BEGINNING of the damage equation).

Yeah. I gave it some thought and realized what MonaHuna meant. I'll test with some other runes that don't add damage once the servers are back up. I assume I'll end up with slightly less DPS than what I had with the Alacrity socketed.

Looks like I'll be sticking to the Quipolatls.
