finishing a waystone that was suppose to end due to failure (dying)

So i tried to do a map and completed the main objective but died before killing all the other mobs (ran out of tries) but when i relogged to my main character, i had the portals up and i could finish the waystone and pick all the loot that was on the floor before i died with my alt.
