Tideseer Mantle + Eldritch Battery (intentional or bugged?)

Tideseer Mantle says;

- "Gain % of Maximum Mana as Armour"
Works, BUT!
With Eldritch Battery, I do not get additional armour from the maximum mana gained from the converted energy shield. I really hope this is not intentional, since the body armour would feel weak in my opinion.

Example;

Stats before taking Eldritch Battery;

-Mana 644
-Energy Shield 358
-Armour 1173

Stats after taking Eldritch Battery;

-Mana 943
-Armour 1173

Many regards an otherwise happy Poe 2 fan

/Edit
I just got to the notable "Raw Mana" giving me 8% increased maximum Mana.. It too didn't give me more armour..

I still have

-Mana 1017
-Armour 1173

When I take Eldritch Battery which increases my Maximum Mana, by converting my energy shield to mana, at least i think so, so why doens't it increase my armour?

Gain and Convert happen at the same time, using the same numbers as input. No "Gain % of stat as" or "Convert stat to" effects will affect others.

Exceptions:
You cannot Convert over 100% of a stat/damage
Damage Conversion inherent to a skill happens first (first step of the two-step process the tooltip describes)

I see, i guess that makes sense, but can you explain why 8% increased maximum Mana wouldn't affect it?

Modifiers that fix a stat value apply first (as of 0.2.0), so for example, you cannot convert Energy Shield into Mana if something says you have no Energy Shield.
Conversion and Gain As happen next
Other modifiers affecting the stat apply last. Stats are only affected by modifiers to the final stat they end up as.

On the one hand, it's a little annoying, because you can't gain multiple stats based on your Mana and scale them all with modifiers to your Mana.

On the other, it does mean that you aren't pressured into scaling both. You don't need to pick up bonuses that scale your Energy Shield to make the most of Eldritch Battery, for example.

I think i understand the conversion part of it all, but that a straight up increase to maximum mana won't even work is vile.
So the body armour won't let you scale your maximum mana in any way or form other than flat mana... That's not only anoying but very boring.
I understand if it was poe 1, where you could easily get 400% increased maximum mana, but here you can get about 22% increased maximum mana, and your armour doens't even take your new literal "maximum mana" into account, that's rough. Not sure the body armour is gonna cut it then ^^
