Companions Are Too Slow

Companions obtained through the skill Tame Beast are too slow and do not match the speed of your character. There are no points in the passive tree to increase their speed to help them keep up. There are no ways to set their status to aggressive, defensive, or passive so they will often run off on their own into monsters and die. There are very few ways to increase their presence / area of effect / auras. With all these limitations, the uptime of any useful bonuses that companions give such as auras becomes pointless.

Some beasts are innately faster than others. Some trail behind but catch up quick like the antlions with their roll animation. You can farm for beasts with hasted mods that make them move faster. It would be nice if your own speed modifiers applied to the beasts too, though.
Impatience is insatiable.
