Early Crafting Sucks

So I'm sitting here in Act 2, at level 25, with a stash with 12 transmutes, 17 augs, 2 regals, 6 exalts (I found 5 of them in Act 1, 3 of them from the same chest in the second area of the game), and 1 chaos orb.

I have two Rattling Sceptres. I need to beat the current stats on my ilvl 4 Sceptre that has 11% increased spirit (extremely valuable), +20 to mana, +1 to level of all minion skill gems (extremely valuable).

I transmute both the white sceptres I found with level 7 skeletal warriors. I get, +36 to mana, and Allies in your Presence have 11% increased critical damage bonus.

I get, +28 to mana, 18% increased mana regeneration rate.

Both of these sceptres are now bricked and there goes my chances at upgrading my weapon. Again.

/played says I have been playing for 13 hours, 8 minutes and 30 seconds. And I still have not upgraded my sceptre from this thing I found in the first area of the game.

My weapons I just crafted are bricked because I can't scour them to try to reset and try again, currency is SO UNBELIEVABLY RARE that I can't just freely craft to improve my gear anyway, and I can't use an orb of alteration to just reroll these until I get what I want.

So here I am stuck with level 2 summon skeleton warriors just because it gives such a big bonus to my other minions that actually do damage that I can't possible give it up.

Not just "early"...
I have the same problem with my chaos witch, and meanwhile I am in act 2 cruel, but my gear is so bad, that one hit of a white mob costs 50% of ES.
I have my boots from the first act - level 2, because I have found tons of dex-locked boots, but just a few for a witch. And if I tried to "craft" new ones, I got +mana, +light radius and so on. And the total lack of crafting currency makes it impossible to upgrade gear.
I have found a decent ring and thougt: Ok, lets make it yellow. What did I got? +3 accuracy.
It's ok to gamble with crafting, but for that you need:
(a) drops to have items to gamlble
(b) drops of crafting materials

None of them does exist.

Ah, and the traders: 99% have str or dex locked items.

The problem is that buying items is way more potent that the gambling they call crafting. If early mobs drop more orbs people will just go shopping.

One sloppy solution would be to invent baby tier currency which drops A LOT but you can never roll high tier modifiers with it. This would allow people in early game to craf... gamble and the vision is still intact as people start finding nothing once entering maps.

Yes, but crafting is more fun. And satisfying.
I mean real crafting, not this slot machine.

It's fun to find orbs and improve new gear.
Do we play an ARPG or a shopping simulator. That's the question.
I don't want to check every single vendor each level up...
At the end of campaign you are ~lvl 65.
Thats are a lot of vendor checks.
That is a lot of (lost) time.
And just to see, that 98% of vendors do not have the gear you need.
I think adding the recombinator during the campaign (not using map material but gold, and with much better odds of success) would make a huge difference.

Found 1 spear with +damage and 1 with +%damage, but both separately are useless? Slam them together 👍

This would add way more value to a lot of items. Every armor you find without spirit, every boot you find without movement speed, …

Have you seen the odds they gave on that thing? It's essentially garbage due to the extremely low odds. You'll get one success maybe 1 out of 30 times.

POE2 is ruined by disgusting RNG, even gacha games have ceilings, but this game has open ended RNG where the worst case scenario is always getting nothing in return for whatever you put in.
I have collected every spear and every wand in act 1-cruel and act-2 cruel first region:
56 spears, most of them white
12 wands
(yes, I have a lot of stash tabs from PoE 1)
After a levelup I checked both vendors in acts 1&2 cruel:
The guy in Lightfall has 8 spears to sell, the woman in the vastiri 12 spears.
The magic vendors: 3 wands, 4 staffs
And as playing a chaos witch, nothing useful.
So, dear GGG: Are you forcing us to play a specific class....?
Or should I respec my witch to use spears? And evasion?
What the hell is happening with this game...

Crafting in PoE2 doesn't exists....it is more a gambling thing.
I played whole my life ARPGs and I never saw such bad design of crafting.
Literally GGG forcing people to use third part web pages to buy materials by this crafting system.

You open the trade site:

1. Set price in "Exalted orb"
2. Set max to 6
3. Add mod "+X minion skills"
4. Add max level requirement = your level
5. Search
6. Sort descending by spirit.
7. Look the top 20 records for extra damage or attack/cast speed.

You cannot craft anything with 6 exalts.
It is your own fault for even thinking about it.
