Feedback on PoE2 in general
|
Hello guys, I'm quitting this league, as I'm not enjoying it.
I was hoping this patch would improve QoL and make item drops easier to obtain. However, it feels even worse than patch 0.1. I'll wait for the next patch to see how things evolve. The nerfs to the skills I used in the last league were too much for me, especially for sorcerer gems, which now feel terrible to play. I understand and agree with nerfs when builds are overpowered or unbalanced, but I don’t like the idea of completely killing viable builds. Here are my suggestions based on my experience with this patch: 1. Movement Speed (MS) is Frustrating As a Warbringer or Lich, I have no access to additional MS beyond boots. The game feels slow, and walking more than killing enemies just isn’t fun. Suggestion: Add more sources of MS throughout the passive tree. If we could reach +70% MS or more, gameplay would feel much smoother. I'm playing an action RPG to kill enemies, not to admire the scenery or art. For that, I can play an MMORPG or any open-world game. 2. Defense Scaling Feels Bad While damage scaling is decent, defense nodes in the tree feel underwhelming. Reducing offense to invest in defense doesn’t feel worthwhile. In PoE 1, sacrificing damage for defenses gave clear and immediate benefits. In PoE 2, reducing your damage might double boss fight duration, but doesn’t reduce deaths in a noticeable way (e.g., by 30-50%). Suggestion: Rework defense layers improving affixes, mechanics, and skills. I could make the investment in defense more rewarding and balanced. 3. Mace Attack Skills Are Too Slow All mace-based skills feel boring. Attack speed sources are limited mostly to gloves and one support gem. It's even worse for totems, which have fewer attack speed options. Suggestion: Add more attack speed affixes (especially on the left side of the tree), and reduce the base attack speed penalty for mace skills. 4. Attribute Mismatch in Skill Design It makes little sense that a curse to increase physical attack damage is tied to Intelligence instead of Strength. Suggestion: Reassign skills related to armor reduction and physical damage to Strength. Alternatively, offer ways to scale or cast skills with off-attribute support, or reduce attribute requirements of skills. 5. Game Mechanics Feel Slow and Unrewarding Mechanics in this game are slow-paced. In Ultimatum, I spend 50% of the time walking and waiting. Suggestion: Increase MS, remove delays (e.g., doors opening), and reduce distance between transition areas. Maybe even add portals to speed things up. 6. Endgame Towers Are Not Fun The tower system adds another layer of complexity and time investment that doesn’t feel rewarding. Suggestion: Rework this system. Instead of towers, introduce items that players can use to enhance individual maps, based on their preferred playstyle. 7. Atlas Passives Feel Useless I took all the strongbox passives and still found nothing but Augmentation and Transmutation orbs in every box. The returns don’t feel worth it. Suggestion: Make strongboxes very hard as you spend points in atlas, but more rewarding, so that speccing into them would make more sense. 8. Atlas Zoom & Navigation Is Shit The current zoom out level is too restrictive. I spend too much time scrolling up, down, left, and right to find what I need. Suggestion: Allow greater zoom out on the Atlas. Better yet, implement a search function similar to browser search, where you can type a keyword and click "next" to cycle through results. There are many other issues, but honestly, it feels like GGG isn't listening to community feedback. I'd be happy if even a few of these suggestions were acknowledged and clearly communicated to community. This way we would know whether this is the design direction GGG wants to commit to and decide if this is the game we want to play or not. Dernier bump le 17 avr. 2025 à 09:32:23

Some of my thoughts:
1. Movement speed is fine by end game, but some travel skill options would be nice. 2. There are already many good defensive options on the passive tree. 3. If they make mace attacks too fast, what will be the point of swords, axes and daggers? Maces should be slow and powerful. 4. I think the problem here is some attribute requirements can feel oppressive. 5. I disagree but I agree that the Trial of Chaos is really bad right now. It's in desperate need of an overhaul. 6. Towers are very rewarding right now. Are we even playing the same game? 7. I don't think the problem is with the atlas passives, it just feels like there is a bug with loot dropping. The wisps especially don't seem to be doing anything. 8. I agree that navigation is still poor right now, but should improve considerably when they add a search feature. I don't know how you can say they aren't listening to feedback after the patches they put out the last week. |

" Do you even look at what people are writing in this forum? The majority of the players are not satisfied. I think this patch sucks! And as i see on steam reviews, streamers running over to LE and all the posts in this forum makes your points mute, sorry mate. |
|
" On a Witch? Seriously? Let me in on your secrets pls. |
|
" Streamers are being paid to promote LE, you can't take anything they say seriously. |
|
" Could say the same about ppl who use this argument. [Removed by Support]

"I agree with this sentiment, but if this is going to be the case they should remove stun on melee builds. It's ridiculous to charge Perfect Strike only to be stunned by a white mob. Maybe keep the stun chance for rares and bosses, but currently playing a melee build feels awful due to being stunned randomly. Charm is only a bandaid fix to an issue that should not exist in my opinion. |

The reality is that I feel tired after 95 hours into update 0.2
I believe they'll improve it..but for now, I need to take a break, at least a few days. I don't understand why they nerfed so many thing. I love the changes to the Endgame, they should've just launched the Huntress Class and the changes to the Endgame, the rest of the things should've just stayed as they were in update 0.1 Too bad.. I'll take a few days off, see how I feel upon returning So far..I'm tired |

" Invest in some stun threshold. There's plenty on the passive tree near the warrior. |
