Upgrades Are Hard to Come By

From the interview the other day it sounded like what the devs want is for people to swap gear frequently by getting lots of upgrades. However, I just found a wand with a lvl 5 skill that I don't want to upgrade to because my lower level wand still has +1 to all minion skill gems on it. This is more valuable since it helps my DPS minions do more damage which is more valuable than my meat shield minions having some more HP.

And all because my new wand, doesn't have the right mods.

And I don't have any orbs of alteration that could improve it, no scouring, nothing to make this a better wand. I don't have any regals because I haven't found enough rares to disenchant and no regal orbs have dropped for me so I can't just pray for the mod to show up if I upgrade it to rare, so I'm stuck with this much lower level wand and encouraged to just keep it because it's propping up my other skills even though I want to upgrade!

If I could just have Summon Skeleton Warriors on its own as a skill gem then I wouldn't have to be crying about it being tied to this stupid weapon that I want to throw out just because it has one mod that I can't reasonably throw out.

I have several other slots too where, I just haven't had any reason to swap them out because my shoes are armor base with +10% movement speed, so that's not changing any time soon, I have some basic gloves that I just have not found any good replacements for, and my helmet which is a junk armor/evasion base I picked up in the first area of the game is still on my head because it has +life and again I just haven't found any good replacements for it. Same with my shield.

And then there's this item level 4 sceptre still in my hand because it apparently can't be beat.

Add to this that move speed almost never exists on any boots anymore. Cant sell em nobody wants the bestest boots missing move speed. Used to be real common.

Combine what OP said with a market that is already littered with all items level 74 and up like 100 div for items that used to be like 10 Exalt in std and it further reduces upgrading. Crafting is simply slot machine mechanics using orbs that an avg player wants/needs to buy things with only compounds the issue.

It does get better once you easily are clearing T15s. At that poiny you get good craft bases.

The prob is they really ignore a large range of the levelling process. No dopimine, no Divs like EVER drop...yet things are already hundreds of div on mkt.

I have a spear that does 400DPS. This spear cost 10 exalt. I go on the mkt looking for an upgrade last night...

370dps spears 30 div and upgrades that Path of Building said were not were 100Div+

Its insane. Also makes me feel less excited or motivated to play brcause Im only in T2 maps and see that I already hit the brick wall for buyin wpn upgrade. Will have to pray/gamble for an item... but in 600 hours if Ive never seen an item like sold for 100 div... how will I ever get one?

Seriously not trying to be a doomer here I play because I have fun...

Also an update, I am level 30 wearing a mixture of gear from like level 12 to 18 because NOTHING has dropped for me.

I've played for 5 hours today and I haven't changed a single piece of my gear.

It took me 85 hours to get into Endgame with the Amazon Huntress

BECAUSE NO LOOT, no currency drops either.
The little currency I hadI tried to craft the items..gues what?!
NOTHING was crafted, I wasted my currency, I should've just used the Trading website....

Well?! I'm in endgame now and it starts to feel a bit better with the drops...but still...it took me 85 hours to get through the campaign.

The Vendors hadd somewhat "decent" items, but I did not had gold to purchase since I reset my passive tree twice and I used the gold for refund.

This update has consumed all of my energy and motivation to continue...
I'll still do a few maps here and there
But, I'll not create a 2nd calass in this update anymore.
I do not want to waste another day grinding through the chore that the campaign brings.
