Thunderous Leap feels lackluster

The skill Thunderous Leap feels a bit lackluster. It doesn't really encourage me to use it with detonator skills, like Explosive Spear or Rapid Assault. In Act 2, I tried Rapid Assault with Thunderous Leap and the damage is just ridiculous (in a bad way). It’s slightly better with Explosive Spear, but I still get the feeling that I don’t need Thunderous Leap to improve my damage or to enable a combo — Explosive Spear already deals solid damage on its own (even without frenzy charges), and Thunderous Leap doesn’t really add anything to that.

Thunderous Leap could potentially amplify the damage of Detonator-type abilities. I also thought Spearfield could interact with Thunderous Leap, causing small explosions that trigger Spearfield’s damage.
