Leech Question

Hey, new to POE and I'm not sure how to access leech on a character.

I'm playing huntress and see ascendancy notables for leech. Does the huntress inherently have leech? Or is leech a sort of prefix/suffix I will find on weapons and then attacks/skills from those weapons will gain leech?

I also see passive points that give +%life leeched. Does this alone give me leech?

I'm basically unaware of how to start leeching my damage haha.
