On the topic of fast enemies

I found myself in a ridiculous situation, being chased by a scarab that I couldn't outrun or fight back against. Shouldn't monsters at least take aggro from my minions if all I'm doing is running away? Also why do fast enemies have a mana leaching aura? I had boots with 15% speed.

" It makes zero sense that a pack of wolves is running past my dozen bony minions to come chew on my character instead. Hoping some form of chance to taunt is coming for minions, but not holding my breath. |
