Another opinion on the game thread...

I've been with POE since the early days and for some reason, I wanted to subject myself and my opinions to these forums.

Pros?

1. WASD, it's just better than point-n-click movement.
2. The gameplay is PEAK IMO, I like the souls-like thoughtful movement and attacks. Have been more zoom-zoom though since I transitioned to lightning spear... but the boss fights still allow for that thoughtfulness.
3. The bosses, they're still fun and feel like a dance, again the thoughtful souls-like gameplay is right up my alley.
4. Voice acting, voice acting has continued to improve since the early days of POE1. The music from what I remember is good, but I tend to play with youtube and twitch running in the background... so it get's drowned out.
5. Visuals and an interactive environment, I remember taking a screenshot of the wall mounted corpses and how it got vertically cut the corpse in half with some type of laser... it felt so brutal and messed up, loved it.

Cons?

1. Item drops. Gameplay is great, but when you aren't able to make, find or purchase an upgrade for your weapon slot when using an attack skill... it begin to feel like the game is DRAGGING.
2. Early acts are also a slog. Too much HP and no enough damage or items to help with the damage, then getting swarmed by a bunch of mobs because you thought you had enough damage... die because you have no items or overestimated your damage, all for the map to reset and you to potentially find even tankier mobs.
3. Bleed sucks in the early game, I'm not following any builds, so I experimented with it and couldn't figure it out. Went to lightning spear / primal and haven't looked back.
4. While I like POE2's gameplay more, I still crave going back to POE1 at times and hate that POE2 has kind of cannibalized POE1's leagues.

All-in-all, I like a game A LOT, it's rough right now and needs some work... but the game itself is really good.
