Unpopular Opinion: Parry is an awesome mechanic that should be built up on!

There's a lot of complaining about the game, and yes the game has a lot of problems.

However I want to make the statement that, for me personally, parry is super sick. I love it and want to elaborate why:

Upsides:

- It feels awesome learning boss patterns and knowing what I can parry and what not.
- The in/out dance of huntress is really smooth and different. Parry fits this perfectly.
- It's way better and easier than people give it credit for. (If you do it right we mostly wont take any damage, and it doesn't even need a "perfect" timing window like I assumed it would)

Downsides:

There are some problems like sometimes you parry but can't get your charge because of wrong targeting, dodge or the target dies before I can retreat etc. but generally it's really cool.


Future Ideas - what I would like to see:

- More skills:

Retreat makes it very fun, good retreat distance and enabling playstyle.
The Ice Lance skill is not that interesting compared.

Please add some more skills and interactions!


- Perfect parry rewards

Either make Magma shield also scale with evasion so we can use it in a proper build or create a similar skill to it with lightning (would play nicely into the fantasy)

Could generally reward good timing / perfect parry with something like getting 2 charges instead of one etc.


There's a lot more I could think about but I will leave it at this for now.

Happy to hear out any other ideas from the community.

I like it too. Stopped using it in cruel once I unlocked the higher level gems.

Think I would prefer it to be a buff on player on sucesful parry, rather then a debuff on an enemy. Or maybe like a melee splash effect to hit multiple targets in a pack.

It was really nice to use on some bosses during campaign, but at the same time during early campaign your best melee option seemed to be just auto-attack + the ice attack after parry.

So yea, built up on it. Give melee attacks better followups on parry and I think it will be in a better state.
They also need to add a platypus enemy so we can parry the platypus.
The mechanic is fine. Forcing you to use it to do any dmg is the problem
