I miss hexblast. Is EDC all we're going to get for chaos witch builds?

I understand hexblast likely got nerfed because of infernalist demon form being strong. But instead of nerfing the cause of the skill being strong, seems like we get a quadruple whammy that completely removes it from the game. EDC is strong now but not gonna lie... using the same skills from act 1 to endgame is getting really boring. I saw the Lich ascendancy and thought my chaos witch dreams will come true until I saw the patch notes. The DPS on hexblast wasn't even that good when it was spammable until you got really good gear.

Please consider looking into re-balancing this ability again or adding another chaos spell that isn't a DoT. Was this change actually playtested and if so, what was the intention on how hexblast was meant to be used? Casting a curse with eternity long delay and then hexblasting to consume it for underwhelming damage just can't be it
