[Feedback] Megalomaniac Diamond & Spaghetti Nerf in 0.2.0
I've been a loyal and passionate player of Path of Exile 2, and I spend many hours every day enjoying the game. One of the most rewarding parts of my experience is gradually improving my gear and building stronger characters — the feeling of progression has always been what kept me invested.
With patch 0.2, I understand the need to nerf overperforming builds, and while many players (myself included) put huge amounts of effort into these setups, we accept the balance changes even if they’re painful. However, one major issue is being overlooked: certain Megalomaniac Diamonds have become worthless overnight due to passive skill changes — especially those with Spaghetti. I spent nearly the entire season hunting for a top-tier Megalomaniac Diamond with Spaghetti and another powerful notable, and finally snagged one just last week. I paid a hefty amount of hard-earned Divine Orbs for it — only to have it completely gutted by the Spaghetti nerf. Unlike certain legacy items, such as high-percentage Ingenuity Utility Belts, which have been left untouched and thus preserve the investment of veteran players, Megalomaniac Diamonds have not been given similar consideration. This feels unfair to those of us who’ve invested incredible amounts of time and effort into acquiring top-tier Megalomaniac Diamonds — effort which, as you know, is magnitudes greater than for most other items, due to the necessity of constantly searching trade listings. I strongly urge you to consider a better solution for players who already own such jewels. The Spaghetti notable, in particular, was nerfed far too heavily — from +7% to all attributes down to just +13 flat attributes. That’s an extreme downgrade. Given how many passive points it takes to reach Spaghetti, players typically had to rely on gear like amulets and Megalomaniac Diamonds to justify taking it. Now, not only have the jewels been invalidated, but even rare corrupted amulets with Spaghetti enchants have become useless. Compare this to the Polymathy nerf, which was approximately 30%. Why then was Spaghetti reduced to virtually nothing? Even if it had been nerfed to +4% or +5%, it would still be usable and balanced. But now, you've effectively made this entire region of the passive tree obsolete, which also calls into question the overall design layout of that area. It feels like you're telling players how to play, which severely limits build diversity and creativity. This isn't just about numbers — it's about respecting the time and effort players put into building their characters. Again, I am not opposed to nerfing Spaghetti to bring it in line with other powerful nodes. But reducing its value to the point of worthlessness is unreasonable. Please consider a reevaluation and potential buff to Spaghetti in a future patch. In addition, I believe players who already own top-tier Megalomaniac Diamonds with Spaghetti should be given equal treatment to those who own powerful legacy items, such as high-roll Ingenuity Utility Belts. Thanks for reading — I hope the dev team sees this and considers some kind of adjustment. Dernier bump le 3 avr. 2025 à 16:21:57

Do people actually care for the standard league?

" I've heard about 15% of poe1 players stick to standard. " expecting things to not be changed in an early access when the devs themselves have warned from the beggining that things WILL change is gonna lead to a bad time. "Beidat honored the pact, though Mancy wouldn't take off Doryani’s prototype." Dernière édition par Direfell#7544, le 3 avr. 2025 à 08:50:13

" I don't believe that a single general warning can completely remove all responsibility from the developers. Yes, this is Early Access — but it's also a version of the game that any player can access after spending $30, and GGG has made it clear that character data will not be wiped. That promise is what makes players feel safe putting time into the game long-term. We fully accept that balance changes are necessary. We want a healthier game, where different classes and builds are viable and fun. But there’s a group of players who choose to push the limits — chasing min-max setups, testing mechanics, and helping uncover what’s truly overpowered. Whether people want to admit it or not, these are the players who generate the data and edge cases that GGG needs to make informed decisions. I believe the reason GGG chooses not to retroactively alter legacy items — like the Ingenuity Utility Belt — is because they understand this. It’s a way of honoring player effort and respecting progression. I'm simply pointing out that top-tier Megalomaniac Diamond holders deserve the same respect. The time and resources they invested are just as valid, and their loss just as real. |

I support this! Spaghettification shouldn't be nerfed so heavily; 5% is a reasonable value, and I hope the officials will consider it!
