„Class toggle"

Dear GGG,

just some food for thought: There is this huge Atlas skill tree and Gems so that in principle, the options for play styles are endless - which I absolutely love.

However, classes limit that freedom severely by giving a fixed starting point which means that if I wanna play a certain way, I either have to choose a character model that I may not like, but that gives me the correct starting point or waste several skill points getting to the nodes that support the style of play I want.

I get that classes are there to provide a sort of guideline to ensure you don't completely suck while getting comfortable with the choices. I would therefore like to suggest a kind of „class toggle" which unlocks all the starting nodes for your character so you can customise however you want right from the start. Just add an extra option at the beginning which lets you choose a starting gem and weapon and you're golden.

Ascendencies could also be an unlock in the Atlas tree instead of being tied to a certain class, if that's a concern.

I don't expect anyone reading this and going „Oh yeah, let's do that", but I'll just leave it here as food for thought.

no thx, the game is already classless enough.
I'd prefer it to be much more restricted and class defined than now.
