A Message to GGG: Don’t Let the Negativity Distract You
Dear GGG,
I know you’re facing some negativity from the community lately. Don’t let it get to you—uncertainty and doubt are just natural human reactions when people can’t see the full picture yet. What many fail to recognize is that the core of PoE2—the feel, the engine, the foundation—is already incredible. Everything else, whether it’s content or balance, can and will be built on top of that. People also seem to forget that we’ve only seen a fraction of the game so far. There have been zero updates since the reveal, and yet expectations are sky-high. That says a lot. I just wanted to say: stay the course. The focus and direction you’ve taken with PoE2 is exactly what the genre needs. No matter how great PoE1 leagues are, the game has peaked in terms of player base. PoE2 has the potential to break through, go beyond, and become not just ARPG of the year, but game of the year. Keep pushing forward. Dernier bump le 18 mars 2025 09:37:36

Indeed, the Feel of being randomly oneshot and penalized anywhere is a unique contribution to the genre:)

" This can be adjusted look at the big picture, the base is there (graphics, movements, combat...) now everything else is doable, sky is the limit |

" Can be adjusted, but won't be. This is not brand new project, long history of poe1 leaves no doubt that rippy mess of combat is intentional. Graphics surely is a big step up compared to poe1 (but with big performance issues), visual design of boss fights is the next strongest point. But overtuned damage of those bosses and monsters followed by chain of penalties will successfully kick players away, same way as poe1 did. Archaic UI, looting, and poor crossplatform support aren't helping either. |

" Movement and combat is not there! I would like to chain my combos with a fluid flow like Wukong/Lee Sin in League of Legends. Now that is a fluid combat. This ... mess of a forced animation delay and inability to have a snap reactions to situations is nowhere close to the promises made by GGG. |

Negativity can be constrctive....so doing that as you want GGG will lost track and start drifting. I think you wish something wrong for GGG.

The toxic positivity is more damaging than the negativity.

Negativity. I mean there are realy angry hate posts but they are obvious rage bait and trolling. Other than that i see only constructive criticism with a grain of salt, which is exactly what helps to steer the project in the right direction. Like, if your buddy stepped into poop you would tell him that he stinks and should clean his boots before he enters the mall right? Playerbase already prooved to GGG that they do belive in them and ready to support. |

@OP:
I see your point, and if the product would be in a shape, where hope makes some sense, i would be on your boat. But imho thats not the case. The most important thing, which you and i cant influence, are player numbers. And they drop, they drop like Flies. This is the only way how to tell ggg AND tencent foremost, that this stuff aint gonna succeed. So, my guess, there is hard work in the background, with a LOT of influence from tencent, to turn this thing into maximizing profit. This only comes with growing player numbers. And NO, those simple "but they made 30 Million with EA,theyre rich" bills are pretty stupid, the game was in the making for years, so there is some debt for sure to stand up to. For tencent, its an investment, and they want their revenue. And they WILL interfere. So, in the end, the game WILL get streamlined, it also needs this, to stay active in the market, and not to be another Niche Product for a very Niche group of Players. And tbh, i think its a good thing in the long shot. One more thingy, Jonathan is a very,VERY good Seller/Advertiser, but he needs to be hold at bay, his overexaggeration was a major problem for the EA, a little more understatement would suit him. But thats just my 2cents |
