PoE 2 Endgame Is So Boring, I Fell Asleep on My Keyboard

Look, I’ve played PoE for 900+ hours since the release of PoE 2. That’s more time than I’ve spent on some of my past relationships. During the campaign? I was a machine, I could play 24/7 like some sleep-deprived exile on a mission. When I first hit endgame, I was still going strong, no coffee needed.

But now? Now I’m falling asleep mid-map. Mid. Freaking. Map. One moment I’m slashing through enemies, the next moment my character is standing still while I drool on my keyboard. My unconscious body is doing better at dodging mechanics than I am.

The worst part? I used to rush home after work just to play PoE 2. Now? I just… don’t. Not because I’m burned out, but because endgame feels like eating dry toast without butter. The campaign was a 5-star meal, but the endgame? It’s cold leftovers from last night.

Where’s the excitement? Where’s the drive to keep pushing? Right now, it feels like the game is missing something, better pacing, more variety, I don’t know. But whatever it is, I need it before my keyboard drowns in my own tears and saliva.

Anyone else feeling the same? Or am I just getting old?

You're pretty much spot on here mate, I think I did like 20 waystones (or whatever they're called, can't remember) before I started unscrewing my pencil sharpener. Totally feel the same, one minute I'm going through the map, next I wake up facing the edge of the map endlessly spamming right click. Endgame is very uninspired.
Same here! Bored shirtless with the endgame. After 3 maps my eyes are heavy and nodding off!

The loot is so crap there is nothing to keep us awake!

Same here. I had to start playing hardcore for this reason. It makes the campaign last longer and is more enjoyable. I never last long in end game anyway and once I die the character gets deleted and I start again.

Short term fix but it helps for now.
In before the forum trolls arrive to declare that boredom is good, ackshually, and that you are just a bad player who doesn't deserve to have any fun and that you should go and play another game.

I kneel before thee, O Grand Defender of Boredom, High Priest of 'Git Gud,' and Supreme Gatekeeper of Enjoyment. Surely, only the most enlightened gamers understand that suffering is content, and joy is for casuals.

Truly, I must be a lowly peasant for expecting a game to be engaging instead of a sleep aid. Woe is me, for I lack the refined palate required to savor the rich, complex flavors of mind-numbing repetition.

But alas, dear forum scholar, your wisdom falls upon deaf ears, for I have already unlocked the forbidden tech of having fun. Perhaps one day, you too shall ascend. Until then, I’ll be over here, waiting for POE2 to stop feeling like a second job.

You've reached the point where EA pretty much meets a wall. It's fine to be bored, just walk away for a bit and check in when they add new stuff to see if they start spicing it up to a point that allows you to have fun.
Agreed and the entry cost for doing pinnacle bosses is too high. Another way for GGG to keep you playing in the game longer.
I uninstalled after 300 hours and lvl 92. Endgame just became a boring grind which is made worse by the XP penalty which forced me into a boring build and boring play style.

I re-installed the other week, played 2 maps, then uninstalled again due to boredom. I think it was just an addiction that kept me going originally, and up until lvl90 I actually felt like my character was progressing.

I'll probably check it out after the patch if they get rid of xp penalty or monsters actually scale past 80. Even then, I doubt I'll get sucked back in
I rememder it took me about 8 hours to beat Champion Gundr in Dark Souls 3. EIGHT HOURS. it was about 10am the next morning, and my fingers were moving on thier own. I had one eye open and I was practically unconsious. I just let my fingers do what they wanted and finally beat him. I saved at the next bonfire and fell asleep.
