Feedback/Ideas at the end of 0.1
With 0.2 around the corner, I wanted to give some general feedback and ideas on areas to improve during the next phase. Nothing is class specific and I am avoiding pointing out bugs. I think the base game in EA is actually good but can become great, so any criticisms come from a place of respect and fondness for your hard work.
1. Mapping Improvements: A. Clearing out bad maps around a tower is still a drudge and time consuming. Once we clear a tower, add the ability to jump to any tower in your radius of the tower. B. Allow us to pick which maps will get the precursor tablet applied to them. C. Remove the worst maps from the pool of maps that can spawn on the map system. Some examples are Vaal foundry and Vaal factory They are filled with doors, dead ends, and make any extra mechanics a huge pain to complete. D. Remove the Greed/Avarice shrine that converts all items to gold. Nobody wants that. Add one that converts all drops to currency instead. E. Waypoints are so spread out they don't usually help us with backtracking and are a pain when you accidentally click on them during a fight. Make them unclickable. Allow us to open our map and click the waypoints uncovered and maybe add 1-2 more per map. F. T16 maps are too rare from corrupted. Make them drop naturally on t15 maps with a drop rate around 1/20 map drops. Allow us to corrupt these to T17. This would help a bit with the end game leveling process. G. If you cannot prevent dead, unreachable areas on the map system, add a way to add a node/map and connect the dead area. H. After you clear a large portion of the end game mapping system it gets a bit overwhelming due to sheer size. Add the ability to zoom out further on mapping system and add 10 customizable waypoints that I can label/color. Make the waypoints a one click and go to that spot on the map. 2. Crafting Improvements: A. Current system is so completely random, ultra rare omens, and unengaging it needs to be scrapped and reworked from the ground up. B. Add a crafting bench. C. Add more ways to determine or increase the odds or what your items roll. D. Take a look at what LE is doing with crafting. Crafting is one of my favorite activities in ARPGs and the hard truth is your system is near the bottom of modern ARPGs 3. Trading: A. If you are not going to doing an AH (which I would prefer) lets fix how yours works. B. After 1 month of a league/standard league, do not allow any account that does not have at least a character level 50 to post trades to eliminate some of the fake/spam/scam. C. No trading of unidentified items. This will reduce a section of scamming. D. The spam/scam of putting underpriced items on the trade website is out of control. If possible, fix it by removing any item that gets more than 10 tells but the owner does not reply to anyone in 10 minutes. E. Remove items after 1 week on the trade website. Reduces clutter and the item is probably overpriced. F. Improve the trade window system to prevent switching out items in trade window for a few seconds G. If you message someone, and they put the wrong item(s) in trade window you should get the item outlined in bright RED to alert you to a scam. GREEN if it is the right item. 3. General suggestions: A. The XP death penalty will always be debated. A compromise might help bring both sides of the debate closer. Have an XP buffer. A separate buffer bar fills up as you gain xp. The bar caps at 5% which would reduce the death penalty from 10% to 5% and resets on character death. It would take around 8-10 hours of gameplay to fill. B. Picking up stackables can become a long, boring, and tiresome event after big fights/breach. Allow pets to pick up anything that stacks. Then after each map, you open your pet's inventory and transfer to yours. C. Remove the rag doll effect from mobs. It feels and looks ridiculous. D. For Burning ground, add a slight delay of 0.5 seconds before you burn. Kind of like a hot coal affect. The current burning ground can fill up narrow hallways causing you to pause and wait while you heal or recharge ES which is boring and pointless.
