New Atlas is a perfect case of what happens when you overcomplicate things.

The raw idea is great, but it would be a lot better if they kept the layout simpler. A simple Delve-like map would be a great infinite and structured atlas. This 3d model with mountains and lakes is unnecessary and just add problems to the game.

I would say POE2 is in a state of imminent critical failure.

I can tell you that after less than 1 month I found the Endless Atlas simply overwhelming/exhausting. It wasn't anywhere near rewarding enough to path to find citadels, and the investment time to juice citadels is absurd. I'm sorry but I don't want to path to 4-5 towers around a citadel to juice waystone drop, just so I can get 1 more crisis fragment.

I just got tired of panning around the map to figure out what I wanted to do, and juicing maps took far too much time to make it worthwhile.

I feel like a lot of people will burn out faster the 2nd time they get to the endless atlas with this new 0.2 league. The population crash for POE2 will be even sharper this time.

We need a procedural atlas that can be reliably farmed and isn't overly complicated or dependent upon RNG. The Endless Atlas was a nice idea but I consider it a failure.

the coding/generate is done far end of maps at atlas, for citadels. this should answer ur question.so its harder to get to them, for you to spend more time in game.
