Feature Request: Combat Log

I would like to recommend a feature, namely a Combat Log. This would be a log of combat actions and results. By default, it would be accessible via a Combat Log tab on the General chat window. As an option, would be nice if you could assign different colors for friends and monsters. I think adding transparency of what caused your death is important, especially for hardcore players.

This 1000% especially during this stage of the game. So many deaths are in explainable and a log would be nice to find bugs etc

Agree this would be a nice addition. Unfortunately they said it would take a lot of work to do it well and they have other priorities.

Not sure if it was the Ghazzy and DM interview, but GGG said it’s pretty easy to get 90% of the way there but very difficult to finish the other 10%. They went on to explain that the 90% would basically be a message saying you died from fire (can’t remember if dmg amount would be available), but it would be very time consuming to include the monster that did the damage. If I remember correctly, Jonathan didn’t know if the partial information of “you died from fire” was very insightful.

!!! This is such a key feature that is missing !!!
Even limited info would be helpful - you died from fire, you died from bleeding, etc.
Hearing that it is coming *eventually* would do a lot to reassure the people who want this, even if it is not going to be a top priority
