I’ve read the thoughts from GGG on the dangers of making trading too easy. I get it. A determined trader could create an app to automate buys and sells and rapidly overwhelm the economy. Buy low. Sell high, pump and dump etc. all viable strategies being deployed in the real world with automated trading systems. There is a solution of sorts. Keep the trading as it stands, requiring whispers etc. this works and makes automation difficult. Add in a single component. The ability to see what’s being offered and ‘execute’ the transaction. Insert the required currency and you get the item and the seller gets the currency. That’s been suggested many times Add in a cooldown to the ability to perform that type of purchase. Set it to 5 mins, or an hour, or 24 hours - longer than 24 hours and my toon will no longer need it. . Whatever GGG feels is suffient to achieve their goal of not making trading ‘too easy’ This will thwart the effectiveness of ANY automatic trading systems, and still make it easier for players to speed you their trading. Personally? I’d love a 10 minute cooldown on that type of purchase. A one hour cooldown would work… abd a 24 hour cooldown would give us a reason to sign on at least once a day. It’s painful to send a whisper and get no response, or see something you need and they’re AFK, Jusr a though.apologies if this has been proposed already. I read a lot of the trading comments, but not all of them. I am sitting in trials of chaos and i get a whisper for a 4 div item (im poor lol). Its like do i leave the trials half way for this trade? You bet your ass i did. But the current system doesnt work for anyone. They need to do something. Auction house like alva is my preference so i can sleep and wake up with some coins. you can't add restrictions based on the number of accounts a player has cause accounts are free to make. sniping botters could create hundreds in some minutes if they want to for free. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
