Thoughts about the trade system

Yes, I know the trade system of PoE 2 is exactly as PoE 1.

You put your items in the public stash for a price, people search for it in the trade website, and direct whispers you. You met in a place, then trade and that's all.

OK.

SO, in theory, this type of trade is so cool, because you force people to interact, visit each others hideouts, etc... But, it allows a mechanic that's driving me crazy... Scammers.

Imagine, you are a new player, you get items that doesn't really know how much they costs, the only thing you know is a webpage called "trade" where you can check the price of the item.

Then you get a item filter, so garbage is more or less filtered. You got a white stellar amulet. You check the price: 1 exalt.

The first 100 entries are 1 exalt, you choose between just selling it to the vendor or put it for 1 exalt.

Probably you will get like 200 whispers in the first minute, then you realize something is going wrong.

The reality is: the stellar amulet doesn't cost 1 exalt, it costs about 130-160 at the moment. But you haven't a good tool to estimate this price, because the first 100 entries or more are people trying to scam each others with price.

Same happens with other items, like morior invictus, there are people with armors that really cost like 10 divs, selling them for 1 exalt. They aren't selling that armor, they are just "posting" the armor so you can view their fantastic, full upgrade, overpowered armor.

This needs to stop...

I really like the interaction between players trading, but maybe the things you post on the trade stash should just sell instantly.

For example, you put the stellar amulet for 140 exalts. Someone clicks on "buy" instead of "direct whisper". Then their exalts goes directly to the other guy and the amulet directly to the buyer.

This way, there won't be people posting ridiculous items for ridiculous prices just to scam or to "disturb" others.

Maybe there can be 2 options selling:

- Fixed price: you mark the item as direct sell, so in the page is listed as direct and you don't interact with the other guy, just buy the thing you want.
- Negotiable price: the normal way as now. You have to interact with the other guy, because the price is not fixed and can be negotiated. Useful for when you doesn't know if the price you put it's too expensive.

Let me know what do you think... As I said I like the actual mechanic, but it allows that kind of toxic behaviour and something has to be done.

This has been discussed to death. 99% players want an auction house type of setup but it doesnt align with GGG's vision. Which is from 2000 when diablo 2 was released
