Trial of Sekhemas dumb boss design
This post is not gonna be kid, and I'm not gonna try to even be nice. I am so frustrated taht I just want to come and complain about the last boss design of the trial of Sekhema. Specifically the OS mechanic if you don't collect all the time things.
Yes, I know it's a hardcore game. Yes, I know it's supposed to be very tough. Yes, I know it's meant to be punishing. Let's put into context: trial of sekhema takes a rather significant time to finsih. The main loot is on completing the boss. You can't, you absolutely can't do a mechanic that OS players like that, it's plain stupidity. Making it hard ios one thing, but here, it's a miss on 15 sec out of 1h of playtime. Wasting it completely. If you area dev and reads this, I am really sorry about the disrespectful tone, but I am just as respectful as this mechanic is. Dernier bump le 11 févr. 2025 00:10:10

Are you not using any movement speed on your boot? No blink? No charge? No movement speed boon? I mean yea, face a boss strip naked and ask yourself why you're dying. Frankly speaking Sekhemas OS mechanic is by far the easiest to deal with Imo.

" You need 20% move speed minimum on that boss. 15% if youre lucky. Also never roll on the time phase. You lose momentum fast. |

I think you guys are missing the point and OP isn't very good at formulating it.
The problem is the runback to the boss. It doesn't matter why he died, or if it's his own fault, etc. Imagine playing Elden Ring and when failing to beat Malenia you are reset back to the start of the Haeligtree. That's not difficulty, that's just punishment. Players love difficulty, players hate undeserved punishment. |

I have 30% move speed on my boots.
I opened merchants as much as possible to get even more move speed but didn't get any. The time bubbles popped all around the map, making it close to impossible to get. To make it clear, I am not whining about the mechanic itself, what I am frustrated about is how mistake or one bad luck simply destroys an entire hour of playing leaving me with absolute no reward. This is not hardcore or punitive, this is plain bad design. |

Yea on that point I don't disagree. Game is WAY too punishing. Hardcore exist for that reason.

The entire trials are just made to frustrate. No other way to put it. I’m level Ranger 90 and did a level 78 run. One of the tests is where you have like a minute and a half to kill monsters. No problem, except that time archers spawned picking off Honor points. 3 maps later, flipped a switch which turned on fire jets…miss timed it and was insta killed by it. I have 2200 health and 78% fire res. One fire trap insta killed? Before you say it was honor…I had 2200 honor…
Have only tried the trials a dozen times as I just don’t like burning a hour to only lose to something dumb.Still don’t have my final ascension points. Unfortunately for me, because I love the general feel of the game, it’s time to wave the white flag. The game was just not made for me. " 2200 honor? That seem way too low. You'd definitly need to add some layer of EHP. Evasion can help but once you're hit it will still hurt. What about Honor resistance relics? It's as much mandatory to get the 75% cap than it is to have capped res if you want to survive. There's also a lot of relics mods that add to maximum honor, maximum life, defense, honor restored, etc Obviously you would need to deal with each boss at least once to unlock relic slot so you can equip more and more. |
