Selfcasted Spells Feedback
After playing 700 hours and spending most of the time on spellcasting i want to give you my personal opinion on how the different spells perform at the moment:
Numbers smaler than 100% mean the skill performs underwealming, while greater than 100% means, that i think the skill performs above average. 200% means it is way to powerfull. Please keep in mind that i am talking about selfcasting and not about triggered spells: Flamewall: 70% (usefull for projectiles, but sadly almost no skaling except from gem level for that aspect of the spell) Ember Fusilage: 80% (Damage is ok even if the mechanic feels wierd to play) Incinerate: 60% (even if the damage-output might be ok... having to stay in place seems like a bad idea) Solar Orb: 65% (i know it stays around for a duration and everthing, but why would i bother casting this, when i can just oneshot stuff with fireball) Fireball: 100% (great damage and fun to play with a lot of projectiles. Would be my go-to for a one-button-build, if it wasn't for enemy fire resistances) Firestorm: 40% (Damage is way too low even with conc effect and reduced area of effect) Flameblast: Didn't try this one, cuz every fire-caster i played got reskilled, before i got Flameblast due to a lack of damage and a lot of fire resistance on mobs during the first 3 acts Ice Nova: 40% (usefull for low levels, but later on it can simply not keep up damagewise) Frostbolt: 50% (only usefull for spreading chilled ground) Cold Snap: 50% (maybe usefull when cast on Frostbolt, but certainly not the best option) Frostwall: 120% (really nice for defense and damage, even if a lot of mobs just run straight trough the walls somehow) Comet: 200% (damage is far to good and the casttime does not really make it much worse. Basicly the go-to for a boring one-button-build.) Eye of Winter: 90% (the damage is ok but not great even with surfaces) Spark: 100% (decent damage due to casttime and still decent crit chance) Orb of Storms: 80% (pretty cool damagewise, but requires staying near the orb. Can be abused for bow-builds.) Arc: 50% (damage is way to low even with a lot of chain) Mana Tempest: 20% (damage is ok, but the mana drain is not and it is imo not worth it compared to the archmage spirit buff) Ball lightning: 10% (almost no damage... not even enough to produce a lot of shocks) Lighning conduit: 30% (too slow) Unearth: 70% (cool for the minions, but not really worth if for the damage) Bonecage: 80% (ok damage and a little pin, but sadly enemies get really close before they get pinned) Bonestorm: 100% (well balanced) Contagion: 70% (Really cool spreading effect. I enjoyed playing it. It would be 100% if essence drain would be better.) Essence Drain: 70% (Could still need a bit more damage as it is more complex to cast with contagion and can not keep up with hexblast) Hexblast: 200% (Just insane damage and the second go-to for a one-button-build. Why can you cast this on blasphemy-cursed mobs again???) Please keep in mind... this is nothing, but my personal opinion. I do not claim that i completely understood every mechanic in the game or something like that. I might have made some mistakes here and there. Dernier bump le 9 févr. 2025 11:55:23
