Monster attack patterns need a huge overhaul.
We have so many different mob types in POE2 and most of them look fantastic design vise....Cudos to the monster artwork design team.
But what's the point of having so many different mob types when 80% of them have the exact same attack behaviour. 80% of the mobs just run towards my character and try to auto attack me, thats it....the only difference between most of the mobs are currently only the artworks. I hope the current attack patterns of the different monsters are just placeholder and theyr real attack patterns will be implemented over time. If not please take this thread as constructive critics to the monster AI and theyr attack patterns, to give every single mob different attack patterns and how they behave as soon as we're in theyr line of sight. Make every single mob memorable by giving them unique attack patterns please...let us love and hate mobs because of they unique attacks. Like in Diablo 2 f.e. when you enter the Baal throne and scream "attention, Spirits"...I want to have the same feeling in POE2. Currently this is the case only for a handfull of monsters. F.e. the "Eternal Knight" who shoots back projectiles with his shield if you attack him with projectiles....Chefs kiss. That's the monster behaviour I would wish myself for all mobs in the game....A behaviour that requires us to use different tactics to kill certain mobs and that makes mobs memorable. As said the game has so many well designed monsters artwork vise, please make theyr AI also well designed by giving every single mob unique & challanging attack patterns to deal with.
