Alternative to checkpoints suggestion
Hi, GGG
I'm not a huge fan of the checkpoints added to maps to speed up movement back and forth. I understand the problem where the player miss an elite at the start of the map and then have to run all the way back there just to kill one mob at the end - but the checkpoints just feel wrong. I would like to suggest that you instead scale up the movement speed as the monsters die in the map. I dont think a linear scale would be good as it would also start buffing the player at the beginning. Instead I suggest a Logarithmic scale that doubles the movement speed at the very end, where there's less than 10 monsters left in the map. It would also be worth a thought to add the mechanism to an item, that could then be swapped in if necessary. Dernier bump le 9 févr. 2025 00:44:25

Not a bad idea, OP. However, I may have a better solution: GGG needs to shrink all maps/zones by 40 - 45%. By that amount, the maps should be the size of Oriath, Act 5. Right now, some maps are beyond annoying, even with 35% move speed and tail wind. When I see the speed shrine, even then, I see a lot of folks, like myself, saying the maps are just way too damn huge. Plus by shrinking the maps, the game becomes more tolerable to go through all 6 ACTs over again.

terrible suggestion, it would make the already underwhelming map bosses even easier

Shrinking maps by 40-45% sounds much better. Take out the bandaid checkpoints and just fix the problem. Maybe also change the goal of maps to a boss instead of rares.
