From roguelite to roquelike: no-stash league

There is a portion of players, who cannot (or don't want to) sink endless hours to the end-game grind, but still enjoy the campaign and a proper challenge.

For us, do consider a no-stash league upon launch.

It's trivial for GGG to implement, and you don't have to bother about balancing it in any way.

Basing this proposal on 4 alive HC SSF characters in maps. Each was fun to play until maps, but then I abandoned them. Now I'm waiting for new characters to be launched to play again, but most likely getting them to maps too will be too easy as my stash is full of good gear.

So basically the game is too easy in it's current hardest form.

Just vendor your gear if you don’t want to use it?

I agree some form of replayability for enjoying the campaign would be a big plus.

However IMHO the only way this would work is for GGG to change their mind and make actually good uniques.

Having a wide array of decent low/mid/high level uniques would make every run different and fun. Rares could always be the best option with luck.

This is how Diablo II works. But GGG somehows is really stubborn about designing uniques for autistic people, or "build definining uniques" which imho is a bad fix for lack of build variety inherent in the passive tree and skill system.

Without a good selection of fun and decent uniques to use there is really not much enjoyment to be had playing "roguelike" runs or even HC runs as far as I'm concerned.

Right now, every run would be the same. Check out Tuadh's runs on YT for example where he runs campaign in 4-6 hours, there is really only a few viable ways to do it on each class. if he recorded the same run even just twice it would be boring as hell to watch as every run would be the same with no real suprises when it comes to finding uniques and too much RNG when it comes to crafting items.

Valid point here - for a roguelike run, the gear found should somewhat dictate which way the run goes. And for some uniques, in theory the damage could scale with the player as well. There are some that do, such as Widowhail, so this concept is not impossible.

Also, might be good to disable respec for the no-stash league - this would create a situation, where your found (unique) gear drives your passive tree, and the tree would drive your other gear choices, resulting in variety in runs.

These would not end up as end game one click meta builds, but who cares, as there are plenty of leagues for that.
