What does patch 0.2.0 (or future) NEED to make me play again...

for me there is one major issue and it is the the maps itself.

#1 LAYOUT
IMO, the layouts need a rework, at least 80%+ are bad. i know BAD what is bad, i guess its the summ of it, and here is my summ:

they are to big compared to our speed.
way to many things just complete breaks your flow.
way to many ups and downs with terrain, so you constantly misshit enemies, specialy if you not use aoe skills.
camera zoom feels to low in most maps and on many many bosses.
elites are to hard to find and almost every map (i would say at least 95%) force me to backtrack, because of elites sit right 2 meters into the fog of war but the game did not show me it was there. (MOST ANNOYING!!!)

IMO, you can't compare it to poe1 because movement skills are different but i need to do so to explain it better.
in poe1, most maps are not so big and thanks to movement skills and some flasks, we can be very fast to traverse to unexplored edges, mostly it takes just a few seconds.
with poe2 this is a different storry, ok the checkpoints are a decent idea but not a solution imo. you have waaay to much "0-dps"/traveling time. and if you do not use max movement speed boots it feels so extreme bad i cant even tell, some maps can take half an hour then because of backtracking and low zoom/exploration-/view-radius.

#2 OBSTICALS
they are way to much!
trees, pillars, rocks, mountains, "ponds/lacquers", lakes, rivers, bushes, walls, doors, scree/broken things, levers, cages, ...
in all sizes and shapes.
if they would be decorative background things it would be no issue, but they are part of the maps and so they hinder you in movement, in flow, in damage output, in possitioning, ...
in poe1 we have good travel skills to avoid obsticals but not in poe2.

#3 the low radius to remove the "fog of war" to find mechanics and elites
i dont think i need to explain anything here,
in some maps the zoom feels just way to low.
the radius to find mechanics is just terrible, most of the time i can see the mechanic already on screen before the map icon appear (TERRIBLE!).

#4 BACKTRACKING
i guess i have wrote enough to it above but it needs to be one of the points because it is one of the big issues.

Completely agree with this
I hate that underground swamp map with the mushrooms everywhere. The map is covered in invisible "holes" on the terrain and have to walk around blindnly bumping into a invisible wall, while enemy monsters pick you off with ranged attacks as you try to run around them.

The savanah map on the other hand is too "open" with monsters too tightly packed together so no matter where you stand you are getting attacked from every direction.

And the brambles map has brambles EVERYWHEE blocking your path and making long corridors of brambles full of monsters that also cant get to you either.

I think there's plenty of outcry on this even with some of the biggest names in the community and I am almost certain it will be changed. Maybe not .2 but definitely before launch.
Symmetry is the main issue here. Also I think killing all rares was just a short term solution for GGG. Once we have acts 4-6 and all the bosses from those acts we'll most likely see what we saw in POE1 where killing the boss completes the map. Although I wouldn't mind seeing something more unique but the goal shouldn't just be kill all the rares.
The objective of completion mixed with some map symmetry fixes the problem for me.
Agreed. But I'll play either way.

yea i am sure it will get better over time, but imo it is always a good thing to write it down with your thoughts behind it.
just to say they are bad, helps nobody. devs need infos why we don't like something to find solutions, thats why i try to be more specific.

i like the idea of killing all rares to complete maps. i just don't like the way you find them. if i am close to them (~1-2 screen) just show me the icon.

if you make bosses on each map and they are ballanced so you have to fight (so 1-5min) them, it would make mapping extreme slow.

mb a solution to it would be kill the boss OR all rares. but we will see what ggg comes up.

sadly atm the maps make ragequit.
YES! GGG has been adding crap(checkpoints, rare icons, mechanic icons) into the game to avoid fixing this problem. Maps are too big with too many dead ends. It's annoying. BORING! TEDIOUS!
I've seen the previews of 2.0 and it fixes nothing and doesnt add or change any features weve been begging for. So why the hell is it taking them so long.
