Frustrating mechanics
Does anyone else find the one portal per map mechanic unfair?
Let me explain: As the game currently stands, where there is a lot of ‘visual noise’, by which I mean that, when we're farming breaches, rituals, etc., almost any mechanic creates a lot of visual effects, which often makes it impossible to identify the important ‘events’ that are happening on screen and causes you to end up dead instantly without really knowing why. For me at least, this makes it feel quite frustrating and unfair, as it makes the mechanics of having a single portal feel punishing for no reason, as we have had no control over what has happened and don't understand why we are simply punished for it. This makes me wonder, does this decision really make sense in a game like POE2, where the way of farming is ‘so similar’ to POE1? If the goal of the endgame is to fill your maps with mechanics or boost a mechanic, where all this ‘visual noise’ is going to be created, does it make sense to punish players for something that is impossible to control? As a game developer, I understand that your goal when you implemented this mechanic was not to frustrate players, but unfortunately, this is how it feels today. For me this is definitely what has made me frustrated playing the game, and why I have decided to quit the game for the time being, as it makes me unable to enjoy the experience.
