The Trial of Sekhemas---The One-Finger Instant Kill Mechanic

So, what’s the point of that one-finger instant-kill mechanic? I spent nearly an hour getting to the fight against Zorakh, the Temporal, only to get one-shot because I didn’t know about the mechanic. What’s the point of this boss fight? I’d rather just pay to skip it—this design is absolutely ridiculous.

If your movement speed is less than +20% base you cannot reach the blobs in time anyway. Unless OC you are really lucky with the layout. This means if you get the movement speed debuff anywhere in the trial your dead at the end of the first phase regardless. That is if you don't have enough DPS to smash the boss before the first phase ends.

I died to the same thing first time around as I didn't think I would have issues with 12k honour. I agree it is awful design, especially after the massive slog though 3 bosses and multiple debuffs to get there.
Happened to me twice. First time I didnt even know what I was suppose to do. Second time I got unlucky with an affliction.

Third time....well 3rd time i just paid someone to carry me. There is no honor in that but these trials are the worst video game mechanics i've come across.

My movement speed was around 45, but I didn’t know the mechanics of this boss. When the clocks started appearing on the ground, I stood there for a few seconds before realizing that I might need to touch them. I thought I had touched all of them, but then I noticed another one in the corner. At that moment, my monk was frozen—I didn’t even consider that this would one-shot me. I mean, what’s the point of all res, life, evasion, armor and ES if it’s just a matter of either one-shotting the enemy or getting one-shot yourself? This is insane
i don´t know who tested this system and said "this is a cool challenge, the people are going to love this". meeting the final boss after 45-60 minutes and not knowing the mechanics that go against the whole ruleset of the run because honour is irrelevant, movementspeed is the key.
i would like to know how many people just got pissed and never did it again. this is not a fair and fun challenenge.
ascending in general is just overlevel and outgear the trials or get carried.

The trials were arguably the most universally hated mechanic in POE 1. For me it was the fact that I had to do the entire campaign again for every character to get to maps again, trials a close second. The trial master league I skipped as it sucked big time with garbage rewards. POE 2 trial master is better as you get soul cores but still meh unless you run 50 of them for some $$$$. Oooof, no thanks.

POE 2 trials are okay in that they are quite fun now I am level 94 or something and can basically cheese them generally. The issue is the mandatory nature of these mechanics for generic class progression. The players hated it not because they were "challenging" but the fact these mechanics are ill suited for many melee classes or any build with "squishy" in the build guide.

The decision to reintroduce them in an even more annoying excessively long format is one of those hills GGG love to die on.

ahahahaahah just wait until you do Simulacrums.....

this game will fail if they do NOT reconsider some parts of the game:

Trials
Simulacrum
Random 1 shot without any info
Waystone drop rate on low levels

and many more

P.S. me as a guy who is new to this game and ready to spend money on it, I see only way to "enjoy" buy the stuff from RMT sites because the time it takes to get some items you need JUST TO TEST ONE SMALL BUILD is ridiculous....
How fragile is your ego that you need to create several posts with "NERF SIMULACRUM" and comment everywhere?

You know, simulacrum and that familiar figure were trying to tell you something. They are you, and they won. So get good, its all in your head.

Ah yes, the classic 'get good' argument. Nothing screams intellectual depth quite like dismissing difficulty concerns with a cliché. But hey, if tying your self-worth to defending a video game mechanic makes you feel important, who am I to take that away from you? Keep fighting the good fight, champion of imaginary difficulty!
