Reasons why ive given up till next patch.
Not gunna bury this with some sob story, theres a bunch of stuff i hate and needs to be fixed or at least adressed before i bother logging back in. Also, this is the perspective of SSF with 450 hours on a Ice strike monk and Minion Witch(yes i know, not a real game under 500h)
1. Some Rare mobs have some modifer combinations that just shouldn't be stackable together, or at least shouldn't roll together. A few fun combinations ive run into which have made me close the game for the day have been; Temporal bubble, All damage chills, periodically unleashes Ice explosions. Thiis one is extremely fun as a melee, because you get the fun experiance of a dodge roll taking the best part of 5 seconds to half complete. Temporal bubble(a common theme) Evasive, magma Armor and Periodically unleashes fire explosion. This one is super fun, not only does your attack speed get kicked in the guts, but the monster basically evades most your hits anyway, and then blows you up with fire and burn. This next one was a fan favorite for me, on a Prowling Shade, Periodically immune, proximal(the one where you need to be close to do damage, forget the full name) Evasive. Whats more fun than a Rare that can freeze you, go invisible, become immune to damage, and then only take damage up close but also evades? Good times. 2. Crafting. Or i guess, lack there of. Sure, donkey rolling exalts and chaos is fun, but know whats more fun, Target rolling, with essences, and Omens, but wait, Greatest essences essentially don't exist in game, and rolling for an Omen is like playing the actual real life lotto. However, i do come with a few stats to back up my claim. On my Monk,(and yes ive kept track) I have rolled on 1322 quatrestaffs all ilvl 80 or above. In those 1322 staffs, i have hit above 120% physical 5 times. In those 5 times, i have chaosed it off in either 1 or 2 chaos orbs every single time. I have also done a small sample size of about 80 rituals(i say 80 because, i count the reroll, but the base was 40 maps) and i managed to find 1 audience with the king, and 4 omens, 4 total, in 40 t15 rituals. As for greater essence, i haven't tracked that, however i do run the guaranteed essence on boss node atlas passive, and ive received a mighty....2 greatest essence in my entire play time. 3. Mapping in general. Is miserable. As SSF im gear limited, and trying to sort the atlas out is just junk. I get lost in my own atlas all the time, ill set up a huge 20-30 breach/ritual/delerium set up, close the atlas, and completely lose track of where i put it. The sheer inconsistency of check points, ive run more maps than i care to count where its spawned 1 singular checkpoint on the opposite side of the map which has helped absolutely nothing. Lost towers, while been improved, are still rubbish, and are just t1 slot machines unless i plan to run delerium maps just because the lost towers are the only linear maps you can actually run without spending more time navigating the ground like a chess board instead of clearing. These are my main big 3, with alot of little stuff id like to see tweaked, but playing SSF almost feels punishing instead of challenging, we have crafting methods we can't use, resources that are basically impossible to obtain or acquire, and so many dead roll modifiers on gear that realistically has no place in the game, like accuracy, thorns, reduced poison duration, being weighted so high, and no real way to effectively roll them off without almost always losing the 1 stat you want to keep on. Also, finally, remove chaotic plants, they're shit, hard to see when in a pack of monsters, and hit way to god damned hard, and the solution to enjoying the game shouldn't be "Just go Chaos innoculation" Useless rant o Dernier bump le 2 févr. 2025 07:59:44

I agree with all your points. In the case of crafting I was thinking maybe a new orb should be introduced that would change the tier of a random modifier and an omen that would at least choose a suffix or prefix. That way would be meaningful for SSF at least.
And divine orbs should drop more often. In all my playthrough I might have had maybe 10 divine orbs drop in total from farming. The rest was via trading (which in SSF its not possible). |
