First time Running the 3rd Ascendancy (Sekhema) - Not positive
Got my first "This FINALLY does provide an ascendancy point" coin for my 3rd ascendancy point. Man having to go through 2 floors is ass, and on top of that if you fail, good luck getting another chance before you hit maps. I got my coin in the beginning of Act 6 (waited to run until mid act 6). Failed with only one terracotta sentinel left on the 2nd floor boss. When I went into the room with 800 honour (~1/2). Feels awful to go blind into a boss (2 bosses in this case) with no clue what the boss does for a character required ascendancy, AFTER doing 2 floors of Sanctum.
I vote for no loot, but you get to finish out the ascendancy, at least for the first 3. The 4th has always been an RNG thing (until they allowed you to do it without finding all of them in PoE1, but still required an offering), but now even the 3rd is RNG for the ticket and MORE FLOORS (for Sekhema). Now it sucks to even do the 3rd. And to boot the ascendancies are not better to compensate for the added difficulty/pain of ascending. If honour wasn't a failure state, you're still going to have to complete the tasks to get to the end and you're still going to want to avoid the sucky room effects, so at that point you are paying with your time for your ascendancy. Let using keys at the end be a "honourable" clear reward rather than a baseline reward. On top of this throughout the run there were moments where I had no clue why I lost honour, or there was just a spike that fell from the ceiling randomly that chunked away 100, with no enemies engaged. TLDR: having a hard failure state on an RNG upon RNG trial which requires you to spend 30+ minutes doing tedium is shitty. Don't have honour death be a waste of 30+ minutes (with RNG to get another try), just have keys be usable only on honourable clears. Dernier bump le 31 janv. 2025 22:45:12
