Flameblast & Solar Orb improvements (plus small Chronomancer QoL)
1. Chronomancer
Enemies that die while affected by Time Freeze no longer have collision, and are rendered untargetable and uninteractible with. 2. Solar Orb Solar Orb can now be recast while active, travelling to the cursor's location, affecting enemies in its path and refreshing its duration. (Similarly to how Hydrosphere works in Path of Exile 1.) 3. Flameblast While channeling Flameblast upon a Solar Orb, both skills are empowered: Flameblast a. Stage limit is increased to 30. (Stages beyond the 10th don't contribute further toward either its damage or Area of Effect.) b. Starting on Stage 11, Scorched Ground is created within its Area of Effect, with increased effect based on the total number of Stages. (Scorched Ground applies the same effects as Scorch.) (Duration of Scorched Ground after releasing Flameblast is based on the total number of Stages at the moment of release.) c. Starting on Stage 21, releasing Flameblast detonates the Orb, dealing damage based on the total number of Stages, but causing it to disappear. (Detonating the Orb at Maximum Stages applies increased Stun, as well as its Action Speed reduction effect, to all enemies within the detonation's Area of Effect.) Solar Orb a. Its duration is refreshed, then paused. b. Its Ignition, Sustained and Pulse damages' Areas of Effect are rendered equal and matching that of Flameblast's. c. Gains a Stage (max. 30) for each Flameblast Stage. (Stages increase its Pulse damage, up to that of its Ignition effect.) (Stages increase its Pulse frequency.) (Appearance changes based on Stages, increasing in Size and transforming into a Black Hole at Maximum Stages. Enemies in contact with it have their Action Speed reduced.) For the purpose of computing different sources of Slow, in order to decide which is highest and is, thus, applied, for the context of this suggestion, Action Speed reduction can be understood as the simultaneous application of detrimental Movement and Skill Speed multipliers, each with their own, albeit identical, value. ~ Alyssa Calhoun Dernière édition par SummerBlank#1374, le 17 janv. 2025 16:08:35 Dernier bump le 10 févr. 2025 12:32:53

Though I want the old Black Hole spell back, the idea of turning a miniature sun into a miniature black hole is super creative for an astromancy archetype. Kudos to that idea.
I'm curious if Sorc's third ascendancy will be fire-themed, or if we're going to get an entirely new surprise. I'm leaning toward the latter, since Infernalist is already the pure int pyromancer spec. But I could be pleasantly surprised. |

I feel it would be better if Flame Blast was just a proper targeted Channel AoE and Solar Orb was it's own thing that did different things not specific to one single skill. Otherwise being useless.
Flame Blast applying Scorched ground seems good given how awful fire skills are. Did they fix different sourced of Reduced Action Speed from being additive yet? You'd just need to throw out a Chill and likely drop everything to 0% Action speed. "Never trust floating women." -Officer Kirac

" Personally, I like what they did with Flameblast being cast-on-self, and the fact you can move while channelling. PoE 1 Flameblast always felt clunky to me. Moreover, we have a Support Gem that turns Flameblast into a ranged channel, at the expense of AoE. But I agree that Solar Orb without Flameblast feels pointless. We are, however, still in Early Access, so maybe in the future once more Support Gems are released we can actually make it work by itself. As for the Action Speed calculation, I wouldn't know. ~ Alyssa Calhoun |

" Hello there! As far as I understand it, casting Flameblast upon a Solar Orb does not affect Flameblast's damage, only its Cast Speed. ~ Alyssa Calhoun Dernière édition par SummerBlank#1374, le 7 févr. 2025 18:24:58
