[3.26]juju's Shockwave Totem Guide || King of Sanctum || Blight || League start || Boss and mapping!

WORK IN PROGRESS. Few more versions and FAQ coming soon. Adding stuff until 3.26

Hello, its me the coc ice nova guy. I have personally league started four times from act4 to lvl100 and have tried a lot of SWT setups.
My guides

What is Shockwave Totem? (swt)
Its AOE skill that can offscreen kill monsters when using astral projector ring and have massive damage even on low budget. If there is one build where you dont need big defences... its this one!

Why play Shockwave Totem?
Its simply the most damage totem skill and has the best clear when using astral projector. Freeze pretty much all enemies so we dont need big defences. If you want to play tanky and have less damage then would suggest STR stacking sharpnel ballista totem build. I dont know why anyone would play other than these two totem builds in softcore for real :D

Guide is split into four sections
1. Sanctum
2. Late game (all content)
3. League start and early maps
4. FAQ
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sanctum
I have farmed thousands of divines in sanctum and this is the best and most chill build for it. This gem setup is way superior to any other you will see from other guides who don't know about herald buff route. Sad to see people build around skitterbots or anathema when there is this superior version.
A: Ralakesh setup
B: Ralakesh with mageblood (expensive setup)
C: Early sanctum
D: i83 Sanctums (no ralakesh)

A: Ralakesh setup
With this setup you can run i83 sanctums smoothly. Boots can be 20-30div on first weeks of league but rest of gear should be pretty cheap. I haven't added righteous fire for this setup but you can use it depending on regn situation for massive DPS boost instead more duration gem. YOU NEED RALAKESH OR NOTHING IN THIS SETUP WORKS AS INTENDED
How is this version outside sanctum?
Spoiler
It works very well outside of sanctum. Just remove AG setup and drop one 50% aura and use hatred. You will be much more squishier than my non ralakesh setups. You dont need the speed this version has outside sanctum. Great choise if just want to fast get gear on and play since most gear is unique. Non ralakesh is generally better for normal content

Must have gear

Gloves

Hrimsorrows will carry you for a long time especially if you can get good corruptions but 60% cold convert rares will be BiS later on.

Flasks

Clusters

On large cluster dont use grim oath or master of fundamentals, rest are all good. Medium is BiS before mageblood. You dont need 35% small clusters at mega budget. Use cheaper 25% or drop vitality/herald of ash/zealotry (haven't done math)

GiGa DPS jewels

Make sure militant faith has 'dominus' and check in pob if nodes you use get changed. On budget the two small devotions can be what ever. Balance of terror phys as extra, other mod dont matter really. On watchers eye you want high hatred crit% and there are a lot of secondary mods you can pick from. Rational doctrine is not too important and can be skipped.

You may need one rare jewel with 3% rmr to fit in all auras. Rest should be generic Life/dps/res/attributes

Tattoo
Add 5% herald buff for every intelligence node you can
pob: https://pobb.in/wsfy6AGHPvKG

B: Ralakesh with mageblood (expensive setup)
Spoiler
I sold my gear months ago but here is pob of my EXTREMELY min/maxed setup that is way too overkill. Likely the fastest SWT sanctum runner anyone has created and could run under 10min sanctums. It had 313% movement speed (353% vaal haste) and permanent uptime on phase run and extremely fast cooldown with flame dash while having over 500mil DPS. It was extremely pain to min/max resistance and attributes and craft all 84clusters since they barely exists
pob: https://pobb.in/EORcB1rh_dVA

Ok so now you have farmed 2-4flask mageblood and want to follow my pob. Here are some things i want to mention.
- only gem swap is more duration for righteous fire for even more DPS
- just ignore 40% attribute enchant and do not try to balance attributes for rational doctorine. Having INT as highest attribute is still nice dps
- you will be fine with just +1 skill or +2aoe corruption on chest
- it's still perfectly fine to use rare ring. Would say last thing to invest is +1power charge ring. Why i went with precursor instead +1power rare ring? Well precursor has movement speed that is way better than any damage i can get
- you are lower level? Don't use medium clusters
- Getting 2flask mageblood is extremely good and we dont even need 4flask to be honest. With my endgame setup i just happened to find 3flask mb with hatred aura effect and just bought it (was saving for 4flask) But for real next league i am going to instantly buy 2flask MB and upgrade from there if even needed. There are some different setups you can do with 4flask mb like using progenesis and granite flask for more defence for example. The biggest improve you can do is making quiksilver and silver flask permanent and BUFFED.

C: Early sanctum
Spoiler
With this setup that mostly had lvl19 gems i could do i71 sanctum smoothly at level 85. Also to mention i had +1phys shield and +1all amulet. Instead these 'expensive' early league items i could have used few chaos 21swt gem instead. Would be ready to sanctum prison and add in budget animate guard setup.
pob: https://pobb.in/r8F30_ILxfY4

- Same setup with budget AG/Zealotry. We go from 4.7 to +8mil DPS
- Doable i83 sanctums with +1totem/30% reserve shield and tree optimization
pob: https://pobb.in/0c_jYl-BLFV6 (use loadout)

Super early sanctums before kitava kill
This is possible by farming heist and if you know what doing and have PRACTISED. For 99.99% of players should never try this

D: i83 Sanctums (no ralakesh)
This is base before you go ralakesh or for gamers who wants to have overall good SWT char and do all content and not sit in sanctum 24/7. You don't need this good gear and will be fine with way worse gear and if you plan to run sanctum seriously i would 100% advice to swap ralakesh setup instantly when you can since its just faster

For shield you need 30% reserve mod or have to use small mana cluster. Dragonfang can have any reservation roll.
Optional choises

Dialla's is giga damage but losing rare suffixes makes things harder. Also you would need serious ES rolls on rest of gear for not to have mana issues. For hrimsorrows there are multiple good corruptions

Animate Guardian Hatred aura
Spoiler
If you are not using this in sanctum you are just trolling. This setup adds like 50% bossdps while also getting free hatred aura and BUFFED. I have added AG mods in pob custom section and removing it you can see how insane DPS this gives. Pretty much only thing that can kill AG is lycias lightning phase so be sure you can kill lycia before this phase. Use leer/dying before buy expensive stuff because its not fun to lose them (have been there)
WARNING: REMOVE AG IF YOU ARE DOING ANY CONTENT OUTSIDE OF SANCTUM

Body armour

Boots

only scorch % matters here

Gloves

Rare with regen rate 20-21%, flat regen and life. Implicit can be cold/fire exposure (close to same DPS) and i like to put extinguish but for real implcits does not matter since AG barely can hit before you kill stuff so ignore them if you want.

Helmet

Make sure to have green socket on crown. Leer cast on start/budget.

Weapon

Kingmaker is crazy strong for this build (recipe: soul taker+fusing orb+Heartbreaker) Dying breath on start/budget

AG FAQ
Spoiler
First of all i would advice to read what the gems say you use with ag setup.
What can kill my ag?
Spoiler
Some boss abilities can kill your ag if you cant kill it fast enough. Guards/rare monsters have never got even close to kill my ag in over thousand runs. Scariest times are for sure when you are still on more budget setup. Floor 3 and 4 bosses are most scary. Would avoid taking monsters deal 25% more damage affliction. Also lycia in The Blood of Innocence (balance of terror relic) may kill your ag since it gives 50% more monster damage. I have this happened once with min/maxed setup. TLDR: if you can kill lycia before lightning maze phase your ag will be fine.

How can my ag sustain life regen?
Spoiler
There are some ag sustain video/calculators online you can find too. With just gruthkul and 21% life regen rate/flat regen gloves i have always been able to sustain. Gem levels also make difference so look what gems say. It can be really small marginals that makes it sustain regen. Some cases even going from 20 to 21% life regen rate could fix it.

When to add ag setup?
Spoiler
Would say once you can kill lycia before its lightning maze phase you should add AG to setup. Personally i do few low sanctums to see what tier i can handle and by the feeling i add in budget AG. Do not rush too fast high level sanctums.

When to add kingmaker and crown of the tyrant?
Spoiler
These can be worth multiple divines on league start. I would say these two items are really high on the upgrade list. Kingmaker is just insane upgrade for sanctum and would buy it as fast as i can affort it if plan to do only sanctum.

Gloves
Spoiler
mod importance ranking
1. 20-21% Life regen rate
2. life
3. life regen (optional, depending on things you need this)
4. lightning resistance (optional)
5. other resistance (optional)
For eater implicits
1. cold exposure.
2. fire exposure. (if you use hrimsorrow this is best and use cold expo mastery)
These mods can be normal or unique enemy in presence. I would just setle for one i get first. Implicits are not too important because your ag wont event hit most of the time.
Exarch implicit dont really matter. Unnerve would be nice if you use hrimsorrow but would not spend too much money on budget to get it.
Super late game when i am mirror rich would use cold expo unique and extinguish implicits.

Sanctum info
Spoiler
If you dont have mageblood and get onslaught from 'sleepless sentries' medium cluster then at start of every room put totem down before you start walk. Putting totem down gives you onslaught for 4seconds (20% movement speed). You kinda want to put a totem down every 3.99seconds but this does not always be the best case. You kinda have to figure it out is it worth to put down or just keep running. You also have to figure it out when you should kill guards in exit only rooms for example. Sometimes you want to put totem so u get flask charges etc. Quicksilver flask is your best friend. Keep eye out on it and i highly recommend selfusing all flasks without enchants. Generally in exit only rooms you want to rush to end.

Sanctum is SKILLBASED content and you will get better over time. You start noticing improvement doing them. 5->10 10->25 25->50 50->100 100->250 250->500 where you probably have everything memorized and can pretty much turn brain of and run sanctums :D At the start sanctum is very hard for real if you have no idea what doing. Also to mention SWT is probably the easiest sanctum build. All i can say is Get GuD noob! (in future maybe run videos coming)

Dangers of sanctum
Deadly blade dancers (flickers you offscreen) is the most fucked enemy in sanctum for all builds and they can one shot you from even 6000health so no reason to get defences for this. Best way to avoid is movement speed and never stand still. Another enemy to mention is blue bow guy that has snipe and aoe skill. Easy to notice and react to it. If you see enemy charging bow then dont move in straight line. For his aoe skill dont back track into them. With my fastest most min/maxed build i die maybe 1 in 200runs. If you keep dying it is definetly skill issue or you have messed up something serious in build.

How i got better in sanctum? At every death/fail i started to analize what i did wrong and could i have done something differently. You need to have mindset that every run you fail is YOUR OWN FAULT because this is true and you will know it once have done hundreds of runs, every death was avoidable. Start learning same pattern on every room and keep doing it! Seriously keep doing the pattern, turn off brain and do sanctum under 10min (with my extremely min/max version)

Late game
currently working on. I will add a basic pob with starter budget later and maven/exarch/eater speedfarmer

There are few different ways to build this depending on your needs.

Notable mentions about different versions
- Elemental ailment immunity
- Anathema with 4-5curses
- Righteous fire
- More defence instead damage
- Balanced int/str with rational doctrine
- You can use punishment curse instead flammability with anathema setups

General anathema setup (no mageblood)
pob: https://pobb.in/Uq6QMjvM4pz2
- Has elemental ailment immunity
- +200mil DPS with 4 curses up and +100mil without
- Balanced int/str with rational doctrine regen

Anathema with mageblood
pob: https://pobb.in/qqTACUl-SLeS
- Has elemental ailment immunity
- +400mil DPS with 4 curses up and +200mil without
- Balanced int/str with rational doctrine regen
- Righteous fire for more spell damage
- Forbidden jewels for smooth gameplay

Gear and gems

Flasks

Tattoo
Add 5% herald buff for every intelligence node you can
Optional flask choises

Would also recommend using ruby flask and in future i would probably use it for way smoother gearing and regen situation. You can also use granite flask especially if you want to use determination aura. Generally would say there is not a ''best'' flask options and all comes to what you want to farm in generally. You can build any setups with 2-4flask mageblood.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Uber bosser
This version is built to only speedfarm (uber) maven/eater/exarch and some other bosses like oshabi for example where we can always kill enemy in seconds. You can't do bosses like shaper/cortex because its Zhp build!
- 1.9bil or 3bil dps when boss on lowlife (punishment)
- is kinda same like Zhp ice trap builds but more chill/fun/fail friendly :D
- this version could still be improved massively for more DPS
- can skip maven memory phases depending on RNG
- with pob setup eater/exarch dies around 2seconds

Playstyle
Spoiler
Its kinda like playing piano. Once you learn the pattern its smooth but will take some time to learne to do all right. But we have so much damage that failing does not matter if you dont die XD

1. Flame Dash to trigger boss fight and cast ele weak once
2. Preload 6 or more searing bond totems
3. Preload 6 shockwave totems (should have 5sb 6swt up)
4. Use Righteous fire
5. Use arcanist brand where boss spawns
6. Use all flasks except starlight chalise
7. Boss should spawn now
8. Press starlight chalise when he can be damaged
9. Cast ele weak and punishment (against eater you should flame dash also)
10. Walk/dash around
11. Enjoy loot
Try to use skills as close so when can damage boss because u get 6% cast speed per non-instant spell used recently(4sec). If time perfectly its 36% cast speed.

What i wanted to upgrade but did not bother
Spoiler
- my weapon kinda sucked for this budget (big dps boost from here)
- better shield
- 3mod watchers eye
- onslaught effect implicit on boots
- better rare jewel
- +3 skill chest and some other double corrupts
Maybe in future league try make work with focused amulet but losing attributes is a big issue with it

League start and early mapping

How to?
A: Level with spell you like and swap to SWT at act4-6
B: Play any build and swap to SWT when have astral projector (stormburst totem good)
C: Farm shit with metabuild and buy full gear and swap

I want to warn that some of you will hate SWT without astral projector and some will be like this is just fine B-tier leveling. Once you get astral projectrol it feels like you are cheating XD It is HUGE different to play with astral projector... it's like playing different skill

POB https://pobb.in/iKHtpMzs8MDa
Different skill trees for campaign and maps
I have made two loadouts for maps and maps low life so use them (top right in pob) Loadouts are based around early mapping with lvl18 skill gems.

Campaign
Personally i level with generic speedrunner strat: Rolling magma + holy flame totem and swap to SWT at around lvl 38(get multi totem support) when i have hrimsorrows and 4-link. Its pretty much up to you what prefer. Do not swap to SWT before first lab and hrimsorrows(~1c item). Do keep and try to get energy shield gear and bases so you can rely only on Eldritch battery and have all mana reserved. More ES = more chill gameplay.

If you play SSF or cant buy hrimsorrows you can use phys to light support and take 40% phys to light mastery. I have done this once and was C-tier instead B-tier with hrimsorrows (would not recommend SSF without astral projector tough)

Act1
Spoiler
regex to check vendors fast: "b-b-b|r-r-b|r-b-r|b-r-r|g-r|r-g|nne|rint|ll g"

Create ranger, kill hilloc, check vendors and mule momentum support (recommended)

Rolling magma B-B-B (use arcane surge before combustion)

Holy flame totem B-R-R

Flame wall

Frostblink B-B

Shield charge R-G-G (buy faster attacks in libary act3 or trade)

(optional gems) I am personally clarity enjoyer at early campaign.

Keep your arcane surge gem at low level(3). You can link it to multiple skills at once but would not stress about this.

Optionally you can use flame dash instead frostblink at level 10 but i play campaign with frostblink/shield charge combo and swap to flame dash at maps.

Act2
Spoiler
Kill all bandits

Herald of Thunder and Ice. I would still use clarity and vitality in my gem links and use them if i can but priorise using 2heralds!

Buy these gems for later and level in weapon swap (no hurry if cant buy instantly)

Act3
Spoiler
Elemental weakness and recommend linking automation with steelskin

Do libary quest and buy hatred and haste for later (optionally buy vaal haste from trade and level it in weapon swap) Also buy faster attacks for shield charge (if no R-G-G replace momentum)

More libary gems to level in weapon swap (no stress if cant. Fine to buy in act6)

Shockwave totem (make sure to level this, dont use yet)

Act4-10 and SWT gem setup
Spoiler
Act4
Hopefully at this point you have enough currency to buy hrimsorrow gloves. Do first lab and continue with rolling magma and holy flame totems.

If you have hrimsorrow and 4-link R-R-R-B or R-R-B-B you can switch to SWT at level 38. Optionally keep rolling with rolling magma and HFT and switch in act6 start (i wont do so and, rest of leveling will be as in SWT)

Multiple totems support

Shockwave totem swap at level 38 (or later)

Shockwave totem R-R-R-B or R-R-B-B with faster casting instead fire damage (this is worse)

Shield charge R-G-G (fine without momentum)

Frostblink or Flame dash B-B

Elemental weakness

Automation steelskin setup (optional setup) You can add more duration or phase run in act6 or have both. Would highly recommend having automation+steelskin minimum

Summon Lightning golem (optional, still worth using for campaign. Would remove at yellow/red maps)

Aura and heralds (will test and confirm stuff later)

Okay so here i have to explain some things. At around level 50 you can use Hatred + haste + Herald of purity + Herald of ash. Make sure you have enough energy shield so you can just rely on Eldritch battery. At this point its around ~270es. If you have have too much issues then remove herald of ash and be eb/mana hybrid. Life mastery 15% mana taken as life us huge help!

Before lvl 50 and the magical 10% herald reserve node do this: Use how it feels good in this ranking order

1. Hatred
2. Haste
3. Herald of purity
4. Herald of ash

Optionally you can use either determination or zealotry instead haste... but i have tested them all and i have to say haste is way superior choise for speed. Determination would be my choise if you dont want to die to phys damage. Zealotry is in theory more damage but seriously IT SLOWS campaign down comparing to haste. Haste adds movement speed, cast speed and attack speed for shield charge! Vaal haste is also crazy damage!

Crit swap after 3rd lab or first maps
Spoiler
Would recommend doing lab before kitava so no resistance penalty. After 3rd lab you can choose if swap to crit or do it after kitava. Crit will be minorly better than old setup with EB. Do what is most chill for you.

The perfect gem setup

Shockwave totem

Concentraded effect as 5th link. If you want more aoe then instead use hypothermia

No link gems (can use vaal haste)

Frostblink or flamedash + arcane surge (arcane surge is useless after 4th lab)

Shield charge (optional but makes things faster, dont rush into too big packs)

Automation + Steelskin (+phase run optional, can also use more duration)

Assasins mark. Ignore other gems if socket pressure but you can do this 4-link for nice DPS. Also dont use Assasins mark before you have whisper of doom from tree.

Cast on death portal (very optional, costs ~2-5c)

Gems to level for later maps for low life version

Gear at league start? Well cant say much. Use generic life/res/str/dex on all slot. You really need a lot of dex/str for this build. It is fine to just down level some dex gems and keep them there so you can use them. For weapon you can just find/buy rare +1phys weapon and shield and things get faster. Make sure you can buy hrimsorrows before invest in anything. Focus on energy shield gear. You will need them because of Eldritch Battery.

Early maps
1. Make sure to have 75% resistances and try get chaos res on gear.
2. Buy budget +1 phys/all skill weapon with decent stats if you dont already have one
3. Buy budget 5-link with decent stats. Preferably armour/es hybrid base with over 200ES because its way easier to get 2red 3blue sockets than pure ES chest. 5-link will be fine for red maps. More ES = better and smoother mana
4. Craft/buy medium cluster with sleepless sentries (just this node is priority)
5. Start saving for astral projector. This is biggest upgrade by far. Get instantly if can!!!
6. Buy heatshiver
7. Buy atziris promise and taste of hate flasks
8. Next step 'Early maps Low life' setup

Personal note: In many leaguestarts i have bought 5-link with right colors for like 3-10chaos at act8-10. Its way better to buy a 5-link and heatshiver instead 6-link because 6-link also increases mana cost. You better save money for astral projector and buy instantly when can! You need ES rolls on gear and 150es regen chest/belt mod to have smooth mapping. Once you have things rolling upgrade to 6-link. Damage should not be an issue :P

After buying few upgrades you should be able to do last lab easily. Would suggest swapping vitality instead herald of ash for other than izaro rooms. Getting +1 physical/all skill on amulet and shield is luxury, its fine without. Divine judgement is best budget annoint for amulet (sepia+teal+black)

one of these on starting location will make gearing so much easier for long time before min/max

Early maps Low life
You need 14% mana reservation efficiency from small cluster jewel or 'charisma' annoint (opal+gold+gold) to go low life with petrified blood so can use pain attunement for 30% more spell damage

You could also use +14% ventors gamble. Stats on this is very RNG so no idea about prices on leaguestart

Detailed item info also in works

FAQ (s=sanctum mention)

What is swt good and bad at?
Spoiler
Because of very high damage it is s-tier for many content if you know how to dodge stuff.
S-tier
- Sanctum
- Blight (uber)
- Maven/eater/exarch speed farming (uber) and few other bosses.
- Expedition/logbooks if you are fine reading few skip mods
- Tota (if it comes back)
A-tier
- General mapping. Depending on strat/skill can be any tier. Once you have like 50mil DPS and use awk inc aoe gem it can be S-tier mapping but you will never be tanky so cod+portal is nice.
- Invitations/feared etc. Should have some extra defence like determination and its smooth.
2-portal content
There are some things that can be annoying like uber shaper/elders ball phase that you will likely just die but ok as 2portal strat. Another for some reason uber cortexs can roll extra proj mod and this is actually the most hard thing in feared rotations because its rare place where your totems may die. Getting to boss hard and boss ez ^^
Skill issue content
T17 is generally fine if you know the mods and skip the worst. Take it slow and dont rush into packs and its fine but its not like speed farmers can run it. Some bosses you need skill to dodge stuff.
Content i would not do
- Ritual farming
- Ultimatum
- Simulacrum
- Sirus (you can do but it sucks. Would remove petrifed blood for this fight. If you would optimize gear for this fight could be s-tier)
There is a HC swt version that can do all this content but has low damage for my liking.

Shockwave totem support info (s)
Spoiler
Best endgame damage setup

Best damage without empower4

If you feel like having good enough damage i would 100% advice swapping conc effect for AWK inc aoe gem.
You can use cold pen instead hypothermia but personally i dont do this and its only more damage to FIRST hit and after that hypo is superior in damage.

Sanctum ralekesh setup

Power charge on crit is only because 4% more damage per power charge line. If you cant use empower4 then use empower3 or hypothermia depending or ur chest color situation. If your chest has +1 to socketed gems corrupt then empower3 is better than hypo.

Energy shield, eldritch battery(eb) and mana (s)
Spoiler
SWT has very high base mana cost so only good way is to convert energy shield to mana via EB. This also makes so that we can reserve all mana. If using 6-link you for sure want 500-1000es and preferably additional 150es regen craft/jun mod on either chest or belt.

If using diallas chest instead rare with es rolls then you really need ES rolls on rest gear to have no mana issues. For lategame pair of 'sanctuary of thought' forbidden jewel halves mana cost and this is super QOL but usually very expensive jewels.

Life mastery 15% life cost can also be really big help!

What about mind over matter keystone? It sucks and will get you more killed than it saves you. Tested for mapping and sanctum... its bad.

With sanctum ralakesh setup you already have so much ES with base gear that mana is no issue.

Aura/herald/reservation info
Spoiler
We are somewhat aura stacker build and with late endgame setups we want to use 2x purposeful harbinger medium clusters. While we have two heralds it gives 32% aura effect that is biggest DPS we can get from medium clusters

Aura/herald buff effect is why we can scale really high DPS. You should add 5% herald buff tattoos. One tattoo gives around 1% DPS increase and we can use ~10-20 of them so damage starts to add up. Dont add so many tattoos that cant reserve all auras tough!

Becase using Eldritch Battery(eb) we can reserve literally all mana. Sometimes getting all auras is a big puzzle to solve :D Getting more mana or int can solve. Also what i usually do is have second vitality few levels under 21. This can fix in many cases and then again do your version even need vitality? Reservation skills we should always use: hatred, haste, herald of purity. If low life then petrified blood and have one herald with arrogance is a must! After that either herald of ash or zealotry as priority. Lastly vitality (ok to not be max level). You have also option to use determination instead haste/zealotry if you want to survive more against physical damage. There is some content like guardian maps where i would 100% swap determination instead damage aura. Also on paper zealotry is more damage than haste but you will do maps slower if you do this (movement/cast speed is king) but... vaal haste is really good damage also.

SkitterBots or ShitterBait? Herald of ash WTF?
Spoiler
I see many use skitterbots with SWT and the truth is its a fucking bait always. Reasons why: Skitterbots with bonechill or/and unbound support reserves too much mana. Takes socket spots. Skitterbots and your totems sync kinda shitly so most of the time useless. Dum dum dum lastly, when using balance of terror phys as extra jewel (1d or under) our shock is bigger than the most juiced skitterbots shock so at the end you would use skitterbot only for bonechill support. Now lets compare it to herald of ash: 100% damage uptime, less reservation, adds damage and aura effect (purposeful harbinger cluster). Can boost with herald buff tattoos to the moon. Winner is clear for all budgets :)

AoE and Totem placement range
Spoiler
Area of effect increases three things for this build: how far away we can place totem, shockwave skill itself and how far from totem can target enemies.
Ancestral reach and sleepless sentries is best medium cluster combo (before mb)

Would highly advice to use awk inc aoe gem when have overkill damage

Masteries (s)
Spoiler
Some masteries worth to mention
Totem mastery: totem taunt 1s (always use this, its insane defence) and 60% crit chance is value
Critical mastery: 50% effect of ailments. This is insane since it boosts chill/freeze and most importantly shock! Always use this! This is probably biggest DPS mastery but it wont show up in pob.
Life mastery: skills cost 15% life instead mana can really help with mana issues.
Reservation mastery: 8% damage per and 10% effect on you should be always used
Mana mastery: some versions need 12% mana reservation from here.
Cold mastery: all versions should use either 40% phys to cold or 10% exposure
Charge mastery: 3% damage per charge is good damage
Caster mastery: 6% cast speed for each spell used recently is very big DPS. Optionally you can pick 25% chance to open chest mastery. This is very good if doing sanctum/blight/expedition etc! Cast elemental weakness to open chests! Most of my pobs have one of these and you should pick one.

Pantheon and bandits
Spoiler
Big: Soul of the brine king (upgrade avoid frozen fast as u can)
If you have elemental ailment immunity then use Soul of lunaris
Small: Personally i always go with soul of abberath but pick what you feel is best.
Make sure to upgrade all pantheons you use... does not take much time or money.
Kill all bandits in act2 for +1skill point.

Anoint (s)
Spoiler
For endgame there is two superior choises: Wood, Stone, and Spell (prismatic, indigo, silver) or Charisma (gold, gold, opalescent)
Low/leaguestart budget: Divine Judgement (sepia, teal, black) for damage. Feel free to take any different if feel like.

Sanctum ralakesh: Infused (silver, silver, crimson) +1power charge. Nothing beats this!

Damage tiering
Spoiler
damage/spell/totem/area damage -> global phys damage -> elemental damage -> cold damage

Conversion and extra damage
Spoiler
we convert 100% phys to cold and with endgame setups we have around 55% cold and 45% fire damage (+some extra light/chaos damage). We are physical to cold and cold to fire build. There is two ways to get 100% phys to cold convert. Using 100% from hrimsorrows or rare gloves with 60% and 40% from cold mastery. There is 25-40% phys to cold hatred watchers eye mod but seriously no one should use this.

How do we shock?
Spoiler
with balance of terror jewel we can shock and it can get pretty high actually. Its one reason why using skitterbots is total bait. You dont even need to hit a target when casting ele weak, just cast once every 10second to get massive dps buff. You have to cast it YOURSELF and not trigger from anything! On budget/leaguestart summon lightning golem can apply some shock.

Cast speed (s)
Spoiler
Cast speed is very strong for this build and makes clearing faster. Once you have hundred millions of damage you probably should just get cast speed depending on content you are doing.

Sanctum
At some point you may want to start investing on cast speed instead damage that pob would tell you. Lets say when pob shows you 400mil dps then you should just add stuff that increases cast speed.

Searing bond and bonechill tech
Spoiler
Searing bond adds 5 extra totems wich means 'wood, stone and spell' anoint gives 50% more arcane surge effect and 25% more damage from ascendancy. It is kinda annoying to ping pong and having excact number of 6swt/5sb totems up so i mainly use this for pure uber bossing and dont recommend for more normal setups. Important to have enhance4 and 20quality gem so not a league start option.

Bonechill vortex arcanist brand tech
Usually i do this on every league start when have free socket spots to use. Adds some damage and makes gaming smoother. For many endgame setups you dont have room for this. Vortexs chilling ground works with bonechill.

Righteous fire (s)
Spoiler
RF adds tonns of damage if you can sustain it. Generally would recommend using it for more lategame setups.

How to sustain?
- flat life regen and %regen
- life regenerate rate
- max fire res
- each totem gives 1% life regen
- concentraded ground (5% regen)
- vitality and scaling aura effect

Sanctum
With the basic ralakesh gear you are already close to sustaining RF. It can come to really close margins if you can sustain like aura effect/vitality level/regen roll on restless ward. You very likely can sustain RF if you have 5totems on floor. If you want to have RF on automation support then you need extra investment so can run all floors and not just the ones where you fight.

Arcane Surge
Spoiler
Base arcane surge grants 10% cast speed and 30% mana regen but thats not all. Our fourth lab 'Arcane Blessing' gives us 20% more spell damage and permanent arcane surge and arcane surge effect also scales this 20% more spell damage. This is why the new anoint 'wood, stone, and spell' is so strong because it gives 10% effect per totem summoned. In some setups taking two small nodes in tree named 'mana and arcane surge effect' can be worth to take (40% effect)

Elemental ailment immunity (s)
Spoiler
You maybe want to invest getting 100% chance to avoid elemental ailments. This also opens better pantheon option. Best way to get it?
30% astral projector
35% t1 boots suffix mod
35% t1 shield suffix mod
=100%
Because you would need perfect divine on both boots and shield to hit 100% you can get t2 mod also and add eater avoid boots implicit. Some of my pobs have t2 roll on shield because league was dead and could not find t1 shield with avoid mod

Can also be decent choise to use 2x avoid grand spectrums and 1x min frenzy but this depends on prices for sure

If playing only sanctum then just ignore this and have freeze immunity from pantheon

Pohx league

Been playing pohx's private league on chill mode. Killed eater/exarch quests and some guardian maps and then swapped to i75-78sanctums until i had good enough upgrades to run i83 sanctums. Was super lucky to buy Crown of the Tyrant and kingmaker. Some of the items are scuffed to buy since they barely exist in this league due to low ammount of players. Normal league i would have gotten upgrades so much faster :D Been waiting a long time to get empower4 and 5% herald buff tattoos but they dont exist x)

For the upcoming temporary event, doesn't Surfcaster look busted for SWT? Giga-cast speed, all hits crit, and cold damage can shock.

Dont think it will be worth to sacrifise weapon/shield and 4 points to get baited breath/Screaming reels. But surfcaster is really good for SWT. Don't think i will be playing it but i would pick these: Stormy Seas -> Glacial Wave -> Ghost of the Deep and then last point can be Sea Legs or Changing Seasons if you can figure out self chill. Self chill will work on totem placement speed and movement speed so would be GG sanctum runner for sure :D But yeah on paper phys to light to cold SWT can be pretty insane DPS. Can go physical to lightning support and 40% light to phys convert mastery and rest 10% from glove craft or implicit for full phys to light to cold to extra fire if using heatshiver (damn thats some dps)
Hey what about the new Polytheist ascendancy? It seems pretty good imo.

Its very bad. Gives nothing but astral projectors one liner. Also swt is not a projectile skill. Would never use this

Going to be offline until sunday and then continue with guide and pohx league
If just wanting to run this for mapping (might do some low level sanctums later), is it reasonable to replace conc effect with increased aoe, or do you lose out on too much damage?

At 84 right now playing storm burst totems, simming the build change in pob seems to net me a lot of EHP loss, but I figure that won't be so bad when you're instantly freezing everything. Are EHP/deaths in mapping an issue that you've seen? Would like the defenses ideally be somewhere where I could finally do T17s

Also, I assume you want a shaper shield with +1 totem count, or does it not really matter?

Edit: playing this in Pohx's second PL that's currently going on.

You can try using inc aoe gem. Personally i have done one campaign to endgame run with it and dps was fine. Obviously awakened inc aoe gem is pretty big upgrade compared to just normal and most of my endgame builds where i am not just bossing i prefer to use awk inc aoe gem instead conc. Will someday post more detailed gem FAQ.

For pohx2 event i had more deaths than normally just because of more stupid phys/chaos random bosses in maps but still managed to get lvl90 within 24hours.

This build will never be super tanky so dodging stuff is they key. Take slow and dont rush into packs and let totems offscreen kill stuff if needed :D I have done some t17 maps but there you cant get hit too many times and 1shots are common depending on map mods. Cast on death+portal is pretty good if you are okay with dying once in a while. I havent figured out a super tanky version with enough damage that would be happy with

+1totem is huge damage
