Trials

Hi all.

I'll be quick. PoE1 trials of ascendancies were never fun, never liked it, it never shouldv been a mandatory thing. An endagame thing to farm for people who like it, yeah, but mandatory no.

Yet, in PoE2, they successfully...made it a lot worse. I don't know how they had so many bad ideas at the same time like making trials 3 times longer or adding an honour system where you can't get hit, but GG.

I didn't particularly mind doing "labs" in PoE1. Can't say that I hated running labs either although initially I wasn't very good at doing them :)

I like that GGG is TRYING to give us different mechanics that we can use to ascend. While I don't like the RNG involved I think the idea of multiple [3? 4?] different types of trials we can choose sounds appealing to me.

The one thing I don't particularly like is in Trials of Chaos I understand (?) that you have to run the 10 challenges multiple times until you get the fragments needed for the boss fight.

Honestly I would prefer a quest [both for Sekhemas and Chaos] where you could deterministically farm "ascension-only" keys if you haven't ascended yet. Perhaps you couldn't farm "proper loot" from those farmable keys but otherwise just having a single key to unlock the entire ascendancy seems like the right move to me.

Rogers, you dont wanna trade in your game but force players to trade with others so they can pull one through these pieces of crap. Butthurt here? Yes, BIG TIME.
I really think that the trials need to have all the negative modifiers made less obnoxious. As it is now both the Trial of the Sekhemas and the Trials of Chaos are all roll the dice and hope you don't get one of the modifiers that makes the trial impossible for your build. I mean why is removing all evasion, energy shield, or armor something that can happen? Please redo the modifiers so they are less punishing. The trials are long enough as it is and are mandatory if you want all your ascendancy points.

It would be nice if there were more buff options along the way and less afflictions and if the afflictions were toned down so you are less likely to hit a trial ending one especially as you get to the 4 floor / 10 room trials. And please change the pledges so they are actually more useful. Most of the times when I get to a pledge taking any of them feels like a worse decision than keeping the bad stuff you were already forced to get.

And as with a lot of my boss complaints please get rid of one shot mechanics unless there is clear marking and enough time to react and move out of the area that is going to get hit.
