Zarokh sometimes impossible

Feels like if you dont get a Hares foot boon then Zarokh is sometimes just impossible.
I have 30% ms boots and no speed penalty affliction (Got Ichor but that probably doesnt actually help here), and this layout seems impossible to run because of the gradual slowdown.
Am I misunderstanding the mechanic?
