Combat Log.

I want a combat log, and a COD style death re-cap -- so that I watch EXACTLY what killed me.

NGL -- I'm getting fairly irritated.

I don't like the mixed signals this game is putting out. It starts out slow and methodical -- Which I love. I'm a huge souls-like enjoyer. Except by the time you're in maps, all of the enemies are super fast and there are dozens of them and they swarm you just like in POE 1.

Except it's worse.. because in POE 1 we have Fortify, and Endurance Charges and Armor (While garbage in POE, is somehow still better than in POE2)

To top that off, your character is still slow and has clunky animation locked abilities like in a souls-like.

I love the game, but my god it kinda feels like a huge jebait. There is nothing slow and methodical about 100 enemies sprinting at you faster than you can run -- with a garbage dodge roll that doesn't have proper i-frames or give phasing.

Also --

1.) I don't like skills being locked to weapon types. It really limits my creativity.
2.) I hate that maps end when I die. Half the time I die, it feels like bullshit -- I learned nothing cause I don't know what killed me -- and I don't get to practice fighting anything because when I die-- that's it.
3.) I don't like that there aren't bosses at the end of every map.
4.) I don't like the trials AT ALL. There is nothing in these trials that I enjoy. I can not express enough how much disdain I have for them.
5.) I don't like that attribute stacking feels bad unless you have some crazy expensive items.
6.) Crafting items in this game are so annoying. You get an exalt at level 10 -- it most likely gives a useless stat on your gear. But you need the exact same currency at level 80. Why not let me use shards to hit low level items or something.
7.) Uncut Skill Gems. Why are these even items at this point? They're literally filling my bank. I have 500/500 gems in my gem tab. I can't do anything with them, they sell for 25 gold.. I can't reforge them.. what is the point of any of this? It's just clutter. There has to be a better way to do this. I'm not even picking them up anymore.
8.) Enemies shoving my character around. I do not care what the reason is.. I hate this. I do not like losing autonomy over my character. It's insanely aggravating.
9.) Melee skills have absurdly long animations/activation times, they displace you in irritating ways, your character gets stuck on every single pixel of terrain, your abilities get blocked by pixels of terrain or randomly get dropped in locations you weren't planning at all.
10.) I do not like this whole "You only get one shot." concept.
11.) I don't like not being able to get health % on the tree.
12.) I don't like not being able to checkpoint back to a waypoint.
13.) I don't like that the maps don't ever seem to have checkpoints in them.
14.) I don't like that I have to find a bunch of rares before the game will show me where they are. I don't get why it doesn't just show me where all the rares I need to kill are as soon as I enter the map.
15.) I think after completing the campaign once, it should just give you arrows to all the objectives to save you some time wandering around these HUGE zones. For that matter, I don't think I should have to do gopher quests like talking to Una in town after freeing The Hooded Once, to get her to show up to sing her song.
16.) The game needs a combat log, and a target dummy so we can figure out what actually works/help find bugs.

Look, the game is beautiful. The art team went crazy. The zones are awesome. The skills look great.. but there are a lot of pain points that I think could be easily addressed..

There are a ton of wonderful parts about the game. These are the things that drive me nuts though.

combat log would be really nice, randomly dying to something and having 0 idea is really frustrating..
Will never happen; that type of data erodes the house advantage. Casinos don't like that. The longer you flounder, the more "player engagement" they can claim have to their investors.
+ 1 to combat log. or death log. GGG could make it a paid feature if they wanted and it would make money. Please please it will make the game so much deeper and richer for those who want this.

They should at least add in "Death Logs" like how the Chinese Client of the Game offers by Tencent has in it.

They might also want to think about adding in QoL Features from Chinese PoE That Should Be Added to the International Version such as:

1. (Auction House/Trade Market) – A more streamlined, in-game trade system that reduces reliance on third-party websites.

2. Revive Coins – Allowing players to revive in place instead of having to restart maps, reducing frustration in tough encounters.

3. More Stash Space by Default – The China version provides more stash tabs without needing as many microtransactions.

4. Pet Auto-Item Pickup – Pets can automatically collect currency and basic items, reducing the need for manual looting.

5. Auto-Sort Stash Button – A single-click stash organization feature to quickly sort and arrange items.

6. VIP System – A battle pass-like system that provides QoL benefits without disrupting game balance.

7. Better Currency Stack Sizes – Increased stacking for currency items like Chaos Orbs, Exalted Orbs, etc., to free up inventory space.

8. Death Log (Death Recap System) – Provides a detailed breakdown of how you died, showing the final hits received, debuffs, mitigation details, and a timeline of incoming damage before death.

9. Auto-Identify Feature – Automatically identifies items when picked up, saving scrolls and time.

10. Improved UI & Minimap Enhancements – A cleaner, more detailed UI with better quest tracking and improved minimap clarity.

11. Daily Login Rewards – Small bonuses for logging in each day, such as currency shards or crafting materials.

Revive Coins – Allowing players to revive in place instead of having to restart maps, reducing frustration in tough encounters.

Revive Coins: you may buy and spend these coins to revive in SC leagues to avoid XP loss up to level 95. The costs go up gradually, up to 4 coins per deaths at level 90+.

These coins are not very expensive and are often given as free gifts.

GGG explained already why it is impossible to make combat log.
Because a lot of things at once contribute to your death. It is not that just "fireball killed you".

Doesnt even need to be a full combat log, but a breakdown of element %.

But in the end, does it really matter?
Endgame is well known for lack of playtesting. In case you didn't knew, WE are the playtesters.
I am a lvl84 warbringer with turtle charm, in combat 18k armor, all res are 75%.
Yet "only" 2k hp with 300ES.
Guess what? I am getting oneshotted. My hp doest go down. It disappears. What combat log would help me?
In the endgame there are glasscannons and Rupert-drop builds.
This is why life regen considered a bad stat too. Theres nothing to heal when you're dead.

One issue is armor. Instead of mitigating damage what it does is "turning you semi-immune to damage level"
Instead of taking more enemies you learn what enemies you can ignore.

Shield block is just fueling this: you have % chance to completely ignore the damage. Its technically evasion with able to trigger thorn damage.
This is why once people get the lucky block shield (or even just maxing out block) they opt out from armor and go for ES or even evasion.
Because in superendgame if you don't get that 75% block, you will be dead anyway.
Its so weird that in t13 rare maps I can go through only worrying about silly explosion vines rare, yet t15 non-juiced white map trash mobs rip me apart as if I am in a blender.
I only have 53% block chance, so my 18k armor cant mitigate the incoming damage anymore.
So I have no clue if I should just retalent for [Vengeful fury] (You get rage for being hit + 1% armor for each rage, technically +30% armor in combat)
or completely overhaul my build (max out block instead)
or even finally admit that this is the limit of my build and just play what everyone else?
