remove xp penalty on death on Softcore

It makes absolute no sense to have an xp penalty in that mode.
Make it in hardcore.

At least cut it drastically down. Can someone at GGG please explain to me what xp penalty on death does?

i will give you what it actually trigger:

1) frustration for wasting hours of xp
2) no fun because it has no meaning since you can rinse and repeat
3) absolutely casual deaths offscreen increase frustration when you lose bars of experience done in hours of gameplay
4) does not remotely respect players playtime
5) does not add anything to the game, no fun, not even a punishment because since it applies in a mode where you do not lose your character i can just respawn and start getting it back. so whats the point?
6) does not put you fear of losing for the aforementioned point

its just stupid, useless and only good at frustrating people.

The balance in the game in getting one shotted or body blocked, even with the update is abysmal. They need to tone down some of those enemies like the lost men or zealot dudes. If you run into a bad pack combination you're all but done with a warrior where freezing by enemies and slow tend to be common. The class already has slow attacks and animation lock, but to half it via the debuffs is nuts.

They likely have it in to gatekeep and also to keep people playing for their stats and kpi's at the department meetings.
This game sucks I'm losing interest playing this game, the XP Penalty is too much punishment and no respect for player's time.

It was deliberately placed for player retention, and to hold back player's progression.

How can we enjoy playing this game if we are claw behind our back.

D'uh, makes complete sense.
I can agree with removing exp penalty. In PoE1, we needed it to put some stakes on death. Now in PoE2, we no longer need it, because you lose the waystone, precursor modifiers, and any extra content on the map. I like 1-death only maps and losing the extra content. I don't mind losing the extra content, because it was my fault for running too high a tier waystone, with too dangerous mods on it. Plus, I'll see the content again in another map, and their rarity keeps them special. But at this point, I think the exp penalty is obsolete.
