Are Reshade and Special K HDR safe to use with POE 2?
Title
Reshade is amazing for sharpening filters if using XESS upscaling and Special K is great for native HDR support which POE 2 doesn't have a proper working one without use of Windows Auto HDR which is fake HDR. Can it trigger the anti cheat? Dernier bump le 9 avr. 2025 à 12:04:53

I've been using Special K to add HDR to the game and I haven't been banned yet. So at the moment it's safe or I'm just lucky.

" Have you used it in POE 1 also? how long now are you using it? The HDR feature in POE 2 is trash, it requires the garbage windows Auto HDR to work, POE 2 doesn't support real HDR unless you use special K to activate it manually Dernière édition par KingHadu#3474, le 12 déc. 2024 à 15:01:31

" I haven't used it in PoE1 but I have been using it in PoE2 EA since I started playing, so around two weeks now. |

You'll never, ever get an official answer. That said, PoE1 players used all kinds of scripts and external programs for the game's lifespan and there was never any sort of systemic ban for anything that wasn't overtly cheating.
The only thing I would say is that these sorts of things are potentially more easily picked up by automated checks given how they hook into the application, so if they did decide to ban people you're potentially more at risk. But the chances are very low, would be my guess. Dernière édition par Pathological#1188, le 21 déc. 2024 à 08:29:09

Since we are allowed to use Nvidia filters which is basically Reshade i assume we are allowed to use ReShade as well.
The native HDR implementation is quite garbage with no fine tune controls. Windows AutoHDR is pretty bad too. Nvidia RTX HDR seems to work better but it requires quite a lot of fiddling around and does not work with Vulkan. I will give Special K a try as that worked wonderfully on microsoft flight simulator. |
