Technical Support (Path of Exile 1) - Stuck on "Allocating Space" - Forum

I just bought the Kiwi Pack, downloaded the game, and tried to start it up. First it took me a while to get through the first screen of the client, and now I'm stuck at about 4/5 of the way through "Allocating Space". Can someone let me know what I'm doing wrong here? This process does seem to take longer than it should. It was simular for me. The downloader is reserving that space for the download so if it aborts it will be able to resume where it left off. Although it takes an extremely long time to set aside the space needed for the install. I would just be patient. If Task manager says it's still running then just leave it. I'm stuck on the same problem... The game was running/starting fine - then today with patch 0.10.4 the problem started. I'm stuck on "Allocating Space..." for over a hour. Nothing happens. I had contact with the support: " Hi Phil, Thank you for the information, that should be enough for now. At the moment I'm unable to give you a 100% fix for this I'm afraid. We are well aware of this bug and are looking at ways to get it fixed in the future. I can give you some suggestions that may work however. The easiest would be to install the game on another PC and copy it over. You could also try downloading it to another drive, and then copying it from there. The third option would be to leave the installer running overnight, as other users have mentioned that even though it looks like its doing nothing, if they leave it for a very long time, it will eventually complete and install the game. I will continue researching this, and if I can find any further options you could try I will make sure to pass them along. This took a while for me the first time I installed the game, considering the game is a couple gigs. EDIT: I just noticed this was a necrobumped thread. Crap.
