Lag on PS5

Hello.
The region i am from is Romania and i am having some lag while playing on the PS5 console. The lag is random and it lasts for a few seconds. I play with a wifi connection, but all other online games that i play dont have this issue, it occurs only while playing POE. When i have lag, the character looks like its frozen for a few seconds then it runs in a fast forward pace, then goes back to normal. I am trying to farm for Oni Goroshi blade, so i did not get into town yet. Does anyone have the same issue? How can i solve this lag problem? I thank you in advance. Hi,
We highly recommend a wired connection if possible as the slightest bit of lag can be quite devastating in PoE. However you can also try other Gateways to see if you can get a better connection to those. You can do this by going into the Options menu on the Login screen. | |

Thank you for your reply. I verified the connection using the cable, but i still get this problem. I hope that this problem will be fixed somehow and that the PS version of the game has more stability. Best regards. |

Thanks for taking the time to reply to this thread. I confirm OP's observation that I'm having similar issues while playing Path of Exile on my Xbox Series X account as well. It's a wired Ethernet setup connected to the closest gateway with minimum ping (Australia). As you have pointed out accurately, PoE console is extremely sensitive to any packet errors. However, when I play other online persistent games like Destiny 2 and Outriders, very unlikely I see any rubber-banding/lag/stuttering/frame freezing as much as in Path of Exile Xbox. Is there any scope of having PoE console netcode stability improved? PC version has something like lockstep or predictive modes. Also, its pointless for me to buy any micro-transaction because every time I equip few cosmetics, console memory starts going crazy and amplifies above net connectivity issues. Is it something you can investigate for a potential fix? Strange to see the PC T-posing error happening on Xbox console quite early. I have reinstalled this game and cleared cache by disconnecting power for 30 seconds. Probably with Xbox series S/X optimization this may get resolved. Appreciate your help either way. Cheers. |

Could you upload a video of this behaviour? Will be easier to diagnose what the issue could be. As for the memory usage, there is a currently known issue on Xbox with performance slowly degrading the longer you play. We're still working on a fix for this. | |

Good point about memory leak issues happening after playing for a long time, Adam! I'll try to get a video clip and email it to support next time this occurs. I am currently able to play the game without any serious issues when I remove all cosmetics including portal and follow other GGG advice listed in this forum. Afraid of manually forcing this issue on console without causing my character to die and lose a lot of xp :D
