so easy to copy PoE to another PC ! :-)

How to copy PoE to your second PC:

1.Copy the Grinding Gear Games folder onto a DVD (or flash drive etc)
2.Copy from DVD to the destination PC
(2a. alternatively use LAN)
3.Run OALInst.exe from folder 'Redist'
4.Run Client.exe from folder Path of Exile
Done. Log in now :-)

Unbelievably straight forward. Good job GGG! <- feedback part

Can I just check if this is the official method?

We've got 2 PCs here and it will be too slow to download the game twice, so some way of copying from one to the other would be good. I was just about to post the question, did a search first and saw this.

But it doesn't seem to be an official post from someone in Support - and I'm wondering why I need to run OALInst.exe (I was expecting just to do the copy and run client.exe).

It would be good if someone official could confirm that this is (still) the way to do it.

TIA

Ok, since nobody responded I did as the OP said.

I get error:

The program can't start because MSVCP100.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

Checking on the other computer that it was copied from, the only instance of the above file is in the installation of EVE Online.

How to fix this please?

EDIT: Never mind. A bit of net searching revealed that the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 runtime package (x86) needs to be installed.

Doing that made it work. HTH someone else later.

I can confirm that you don't even need to copy the "Grinding Gear Games" directory, and instead, just copy "Path of Exile" directory to ANY computer, install OpenAL and wham! Definitely a better method for keeping the updated content, should you need to re-install Windows or anything.
yeah this saves me a lot of time
i just got hacked :(
this mornng when i logged in
all my stuff is gone (stash + inventory)
and almost all of my character is deleted too

so i format my system
delete the old PoE games from my drive
and copy a fresh PoE from a friend
(just to be safe)

and the file that needs to be run after copy PoE folder is
dxsetup.exe
(maybe the Dev's changed it since the lat patch)

Thanks for posting the solution, just copied POE to another PC.
Installed the update from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8328
and started Client.exe
