[Developers Please Read] UI Mods, and such

Hey GGG staff,

I'd like to ask you to consider something on the long run. And that's enabling an Interface scripting API through LUA or such. I'll state below some of the reasons why I think this should be implemented sometime before or after release.

- Simply having a way for users to modify the user interface. I know, your interface is slick and such. But some people might want to customize it. Yo, we may have colorblind people, and we can find modders who can make such. Or at least, not making us able to modify the interface, but give us an API, a forum, and we'll post mods which can be reviewed by you guys and implemented ingame. (only problem with this version is not being able to test) As in, we'll be able to create frames using data specified by you. I presume the game is written in C++, as it's a solid framework for both client and server applications, therefore LUA is an easy embed.

- Advertisement. I know it sounds retarded at first, but hey. There are lots of modding sites. Curse.com is visited by players of MANY games. You can attract people by just having a section on that website for Mods.

- I am a modder of games for around 4 years. I've started with WoW AddOns, then WAR AddOns, Allods AddOns, RoM AddOns, Witcher 2, DA2 modding and so on. I'd gladly work on the interface for free.

- Helps you get a more easy way of finding the right interface. People will make mods. People will use mods. Statistics on how many use what mod. You can implement it after.

Notes:
- I'm pretty sure you have some front-end API, otherwise you wouldn't have such an easy time making interface changes.

- People are asking for Floating Combat Text and other optional changes. Mods can get these problems off your heads and back to balancing, adding the 6th class, etc.

I have always been a fan of modding my UI (not a modder but using mods) so would support this :)

If not a UI scaler alone would make me happy.
"First in, last out." Bridgeburners.

"Always an even trade." Malaz 2nd Army
That indeed would be a plus
Mod's are a pandora's box.

Specially for the ARPG variety, but I wouldn't mind seeing UI modding, but once they allow that you could mod anything else.

WoW became more trivial for me way back when as more mods came out telling me when and how to move... doing my job for me.
Can someone move this to Suggestions? I made a booboo. :D
Don't know if it's against the rules, but bump.
No official response yet? :(
Bump. :o

Without wanting to belittle the work in any way, the UI in PoE is fairly simple. As a developer I'm not seeing anything that would require a fancy API, all of it could be done with custom code. That's not to say something like the Flash API that Skyrim uses isn't nice... it's super nice sharp.

As for LUA I know what you mean there are lots of LUA scripts for LOTRO. But for this ARPG? Seems a little much?

FYI I have rarely seen GGG directly say yes or no to a suggestion. I imagine they have a long list already but they do read the forum :)
Thanks for the response, I was expecting community feedback too. Well, UI mods are a cheap way to bring something new.
