Alva... WTF?
Ok, so i didn't play incursion league, and i played on-and-off for almost half a year now since it was introdued in standard. but i still don't know how to handle this gameplay aspect.
I notoriously have problems with setting time limits on things. i like to play slower than most people, and time limits do weird things to my mind, where i get reckless. and that usually results in death. i liked the change to Zana missions where you now have a choice to do quests with time limit, or with only one portal. i choose the one portal ones pretty much every time. But with Alva that is now too extreme for me. The time limit is 10 seconds (instead of the Zana one which is in the range of 5 minutes, and still too short for me). And in those 10 seconds i just panic-mash some random buttons and hope i'm still alive. which i'm usually not. I can't think of a single instance where i actually achieved any objective in an Alva mission. and i die in the vast majority of them. And as you might expect, dying isn't the fun part in almost any game. But i can also not just skip these things, this is not how my brain works. I can opt out of running Atziri, because that needs an active step on my part to put in the fragments into the map device. I can opt out of running high level maps the same way. I can opt out of eternal laboratory. But i cannot opt out of master missions that spawn in the maps. if they are there, i also have to run them. I can also not skip map bosses. I sometimes want to, but i can't. I would really, really, appreciate a way to opt out of these master missions. Like, talk to the master, and tell him "please, never appear in my maps". spawning the master mission would just be skipped (instead of being replaced by something else) Or in lieu of that, some way to skip entering the incursion (but it still counting towards progress for the temple) Dernier bump le 21 mars 2019 à 14:49:57

1) don't panic , timer does not start until you move.
2) when talking to alva before going in, the temple layout comes up and in the upper right it will show the layout and what killing either boss will do. 3) go in , and take a second to look around once loaded, you should be immune to damage until you move. 4) in open areas , try to get to use a movement skill to move quickly or a good aoe skill to kill the immediate threat. 5) having a phasing potion or a movement potion as a minimum is needed. 6) stone golem is a great tank that does taunt to save you from some damage. |

well, you are screwed mr. OP, you are not the target audience where GGG is pointing their content.
I play extreme build with burst output but semi-slow movement speed, even with that i have problems with Alva from time to time. Unfortunately, movement speed is how defines how "hard" a content is. I represent only myself, my own thought and believes. I am individual, not a representative of the community.
I am not speaking on behalf of someone else and I don't get offended by things that have nothing to do with me. 3.13 was the golden age. |

What skills are you using? Incursions are typically very easy with skills that are well-tuned for trash mobs (Blade Vortex, Winter Orb, Tornado Shot, Lightning Arrow), and basically impossible if all you're good for is single-target. You need to be able to clear the trash mobs fast, because you'll need that extra time to kill off the unique/rare mobs.
Additionally, if you're not at least a little tanky, things in there may very well kill you. What I'm guessing based on your post is that you're a melee build with weak defenses - otherwise, I'm not sure why you're having so much trouble. I may be biased, my WOrb Elementalist is basically perfect for incursions, but if you're struggling this much, there's probably a problem with your build. If you can't efficiently clear trash mobs or consistently kill a low-level boss mob, something is wrong. Beyond that, 10 seconds isn't much time, but you get told the layout ahead of time. Just run in a direction until you find things to kill, and kill 'em. Then repeat that until you've run out of things to kill. If your build is good at clearing trash, that 10 seconds will very quickly become 20-30. It's okay if you don't clear out everything, just focus on killing one of the two unique mobs or lots of trash mobs (to find and use Stones of Passage). You should be using speed and/or phasing flasks, and Phase Run helps if you can use it. Luna's Blackguards - a guild of bronies - is now recruiting! I'm not here for build advise. This experience covers multiple different builds, with different kinds of skills and different levels of defensiveness.
Also, i'm using (almost exclusively) self-found gear, so i might not be at the top edge of that. one of the problems i'm having with alva missions is that they aren't in line with the content i'm running, difficulty wise. like, if i'm running a T7 map, i can do this fine. But entering an incursion in that T7 map, i'm almost instantly dead. I'm also aware of the "look at the overview and plan ahead" aspect of running incursions, but that is meaningless, as i'm struggling on a much more basic level. |

" See, that's really weird to me, because the difficulty level isn't actually noticeably higher. There's a slightly higher mob density, but you shouldn't be dying unless you're jumping into the middle of a huge magic pack or something. I had survival problems with my CI DoT build, but that build was abysmally undergeared, and DoT is not well-suited for incursions. I just fundamentally don't get it. It's really confusing. I can run into magic packs & kill them quickley with my Vaal cyclone with life gain on hit support

Only change I would make is to either allow multiple "hits" on a room in the same map or reduce the number of incursions from 3 to 2. It's too dang hard to get rooms to III in the current implementation.
