Question to Buffs granted by items

Hi,

1. If an unique item grants a buff, is the buff effected by skill effect duration from tree or from socketing inc. duration into that item?

But it should be the same for every item that doesnt GRANT a skill, but just gives a buff.


Also, is there something like soul gain prevention on this item, or do you just have to hit 10 things to get this buff again and again?

Duration is affected by Buff Duration modifiers, and can also be affected by Skill Effect Duration modifiers if the buff was applied by a skill.
The passive skills which increase buff and debuff duration apply not to buffs on you but to buffs (including debuffs) you create, either on yourself or other entities. This includes all the above as well as such things as the debuffs placed on cursed monsters.

The only way as I remember to modify buffs is by using Ichimonji

"Divinity Buff" - it seems really strong but I have no idea about its internal CD (haven´t tested it myself or read about).

So in short: yes, passive tree duration applies to the buff, because I created the buff from an entity I control (an item).

What about support gems linked into the item? I think they just apply to stuff that says "grant" - but not sure. Anyone got intel on this?

PS: I would also be very happy if GGG would clarify on these things on releasing new items. Instead of just showing us items, they should explain new keywords or certain mechanics behind it just like they do with every new skill gem. Items and Skill gems are almost of even importance in this game, and thats what we like about it ;)
