Volkuur's, Traps and Noxious Strikes
I'm unsure how exactly this interaction is working.
It's obvious that if the traps are applying poison, they don't count as me applying poison, as they don't generate virulence charges. This makes sense, though I didn't expect it. I would also assume that any poison a trap does apply would not count towards Noxious Strikes. Is the same true in reverse however? I've I've built up x% increased duration via Noxious Strikes, does that increased duration apply to the trap's poison? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Dernier bump le 13 janv. 2019 à 03:39:23

I have the same thoughts.
When we using traps and mines, the caster/attacker is not the player. So the player can not grant any virulence and increment of poison duration from Noxious Strikes. This is totally make sense to the casting/attacking mechanism in PoE. If the traps and mines can inflict those effect of attacking or casting, it will be too overpowered. Such as, gain on hit and leeching. Back to Noxious Strikes. I did some test with Barrage-Chain-GMP-Trap-ClusterTraps-MultipleTraps to inflict poisons, and my chance of poison on hit was 100%. Theoretically, the total hit number is higher than 600 if all traps were trigger simultaneously. If, the poison duration increment of Noxious Strikes can be applied by traps and mines, the poison duration would longer than 1 minute. But, the poison still wear off within 5 seconds. So, Noxious Strikes will not increase poison duration with the poisons inflicted by traps and mines. (I tried to use Ancestral Bond to make myself dealing zero damage. But, I forget the caster/attacker of traps and mines are not the player. So, player can still dealing damage by traps and mines, even with Ancestral Bond) There were some other similar issues in Assassin's ascendant which also provide some effect to "you". 1.Toxic Delivery: a.Poison you inflict with Critical Strikes deals 30% more Damage I can not tell if this work on traps and mines. The way I used to test is too hard to detect the difference. b.Recover 0.5% of your maximum Life per Poison affecting Enemies you Kill It clearly says recover life when "you" Kill poisoned enemies. But, I do actually recover life when I kill poisoned enemies by my traps. So, the mechanism of life gain/recover "when you kill" is different to gain on hit or leeching. 2.Unstable Infusion Player can not gain any power charge to player by hits with traps and mines. Also, this does not give totems any power charge either. 3.Opportunistic: 20% increased Movement Speed if you've Killed Recently This work on traps and mines. So, it is clear that those effects trigger by "killing enemy" work fine with traps and mines (I think it works with all minions and totems too). But, those effects trigger "on hits" can not work with traps and mines. However, I think this is not suitable for the concept of Shadow. Traps and mines should work fine to Shadow like totems to Chieftain and Hierophant. Noxious Strike should remake into this: 5% increased Poison Duration for each Poison inflicted by you, your traps and your mines recently. So do other shadow's ascendant skill. Including: Toxic Delivery, Unstable Infusion, Harness the Void. This may make shadow too overpowered. There is another way I think it may work. Add a new keystone: Your trap and mine hits considered as your hits. The effects trigger on hits are 30% less. I would like to see more discussion. Please join me to make it real. |
