Load times

Wasting Elder portals because it takes so long to load in. By the time it all loads, I'm already below half hp or even dead by the time I can see my character. For fucks sake....

Been having the same problem lately. It doesnt always happen but it's been more frequent. Load in, i still see loading screen but hear mobs attacking, luckily im running a Golem so they attack him first but either way it's been happening more than id like.
Well, is that on a Xbox1 S WITHOUT an External SSD Disk?

Or is this also the case if you play on a Xbox1 X?
I shouldn't need a fucking SSD to play a goddamn game on console. I play on an X.
I play using the very first model. Very shitty, i actually needed an external SSD, so I wouldn't end up killing myself. Loading times in the elder fights are still kinda bs, but not as bad.

In Uber Elder if I don't wait for everything to load, Shaper's balls are invisible along with other stuff.

I understand your frustration, OP.
I'm not opposed to buying one. It seems like a great option. Just super frustrating is all. I love the game, but seems like I constantly have to buy something to keep up. If that's the case, I'll just build another PC.
Hope there is one who can help you out and explain better this then me.

Anyway, I play my Path of Exile on an Xbox 1 S, with an external SSD Disk, which takes loading times down by a lot, and with a lot I mean A LOT. When I played without my SSD Disk, I was experiencing load times which took it from everything between 20-25 to 40 seconds easily to load. And yes, this was EACH AND EVERY TIME ON EVERY loading screen. I have thought about sometimes how many cups of coffee I could have drank in the same time those loading screens been present.
That External SSD took loading times from 20-25 to 40 seconds down to 5 to max 10 seconds.

As far as I know Xbox 1 X does have an internal SSD which is far better then Xbox 1 S´s.
And if you do have a Xbox 1 X, you should run Path of Exile a lot better then me already. Shouldn´t you? Is it something else then??

Because what I hear of other Xbox 1 X players is Way better. Way better, they say.
But I kinda totally ignored your post, OP. If you're talking about Red Elder. I just don't move, let everything load while I have the immunity.. specially if I've died and had to re-enter the arena.

For Uber Elder is no biggie, if I die when i re-enter shaper's realm just wait outside where the Shaper's fight happens, for everything to load.
To me all this is a small price to pay for not dying by something I am not even able to see..

As long as you do not move or take any actions at all, you have complete immunity for 45 seconds when you first enter a zone. Pets and minions can not take damage during that time, either. Mobs may attack as much as they want, but they can't damage you or your pets or minions for 45 seconds as long as you do not move or press any buttons.

The default Xbox One HD is a standard 5400 rpm disk. There's a huge amount of stuff being loaded and XBox sucks at doing that... An SSD install of PoE is obviously more desirable. But, it's not a necessity. I don't have it on SSD and don't have too many issues with loading times - I just wait.

One thing you really need to do with PoE is check your connection. Check the route from your XBox to your router to the PoE servers you're connecting to. Do everything you can to make that as good a connection as possible. (Never run PoE over WiFi, for instance, since that's just asking for problems and low transfer rates. Unless you have no other choice, that is.)

So, remember - 45 seconds of no possible way you or your minions can take damage as long as you don't move. Zone in, go get a drink, stretch, get comfy, whatever...

PS - Also, if you have a household full of stuff all hammering your network for its share of data, that's going to limit your pipe. And, when you do start loading things in and move before everything is fully loaded, take it easy at first. PoE is VERY fragile with server/client info stuff, like trying to figure out where the player's character is. If there's enough of a discrepancy, due to it being preoccupied with still loading the zone as you're Flame-Dashing-your-way-to-victory, it's just say "@$%$@ it" and drop the connection... ie: Wait for stuffs to load.
